Post subject: Do creams e.c.t really help strech marks?????
im only 14 weeks, so havent got any signs of a bump just yet, and although all my trousers are getting quite tight, i havent put on any weight anywhere else.
my sis after having her first had loads of strech marks, and i no there natural but i really just dont want any! i have a few very small marks on top os my hips and inner thighs although this is just because of growth spurt as a teenager.
my sis told me that her friend used cream and oils religiously and she hadn't one mark and her tummy is as it always was before pregnancy.
my point is, ive been using creams, and its a right pain in the backside!!! im too lazy and tired most day i seriously cant be bothered, and then i feel worried if i dont put the [*@!#%*] on!!!
anyways was wondering if there was anyone who has or knows anyone that has avoided those dreaded strechmarks or is it just one of them things????
my mum and sis, have had really bad marks so i know im definately going to get them, that is unless theres something i can do to stop them.
sorry - that took a while!!! lol!!

I don't think they work as well as they claim to. Personally, I won't be spending any money on stretchmark cream, though if by the end of my pregnancy I'm covered in them, perhaps I'll regret it!
I think stretch marks are more likely to appear if (a) you're just unlucky and prone to them or (b) you're gaining weight particularly quickly / not steadily.

hi ladies, i was covered in stretch marks when i had my daughter, i tried so many different creams and lotions and nothing worked. i believe that yes prevention is better than cure and if you use creams they could help prevent them but if your skin is not as stretchy as others then i dont think u can avoid them.
once the stretch marks appear you cant get rid of them but, again good skin hydration and toning of the effected areas can help make them look less angry.

I have a company making natural skin creams with my partner. He made me one and it works as well as can be expected. There are 2 causes of stretch marks: 1. gaining weight rapidly, and 2. genetics. All you can do is keep your skin incredibly supply to try to prevent them and cross your fingers that you've got good genes! The oil blend I use works really well, but there's no product that's fool proof.

before i was even pregnant i use to use bodyshop's body butter, its the only thing i have used throughout my pregnancy and im 32 weeks pregnant and not one stretch mark
a friend of ine spent loads of money on different creams and still had loads of stretch marks so i supppose it depends on each person and their skin

I dont think any cream or oil can prevent stretch marks, it all goes on what type of skin you have.
I had my son 5months ago and although I never got any stretch marks on my tummy, I did develop some on my boobs, although I believe this was down to having implants not long before I fell pregnant.
I use bio Oil twice a day and to be honest, I dont think it makes a difference!!!
Palmers coco butter cream was the best at keeping skin hydrated and supple.

im using the bio-oil, bought a small bottle at £7.99 from boots chemist.
im loving the smell, and its reallynot as greasy as i first thought which is cool.
thanks everyone for your comments, i've been shopping about and whilst asking in chemists and drug store, bio-oil was the most popular!
heres to wishing us all strech-mark free bumps in the near future!!! lol
