Post subject: Hi Megz
that sounds absolutely horrible you poor poor thing. I think sometimes the doctors, ultrasound folks and midwifes forget that they need to explain things really fully to their patients. The best advice I can give you is to not leave until you have meaningful answers to what has happened, what is going on now - and most importantly what happens next and the chances. As you are very likely to be an emotional mess at scans, it may be worth getting your fiance to make sure the questions are answered. Just don't leave until you know everything they are able to tell you! I really hope it goes OK for you - please pop back and let us know. Anna Posted: Thu Sep 27, 2007 3:40 am

Post subject: Hey Megan
ask anything you like really! If I were you I'd make sure you get the basics: - is the baby OK at the moment? - what can you do to help increase the chances of keeping him/her? (if anything) - what happens next - both if bleeding continues and if it stops - make sure you have a next appointment with either hospital, doctor or midwife to follow up - ask the sonographer to explain what she is looking at and for as she does the scan. Some will, some won't - I just ekpt going'what's that' 'what does that show' etc etc all the way through when I had to have a 6 week scan until she gave me a complete running commentary of everything she was looking at. Also, if you see a specialist, I would ask what sort of percentage chances the baby has - but that might just be me! I prefer to have all the facts so that I only worry about the important things - otherwise its too easy to worry about EVERYTHING. Really hope it goes OK tomorrow - whatever the outcome, do let us know (or I'll worry about that too!!). I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Anna Posted: Sun Sep 30, 2007 5:26 pm
