Post subject: Does employer have right to reduce my pay after mat leave?
When I returned to work part-time after mat leave, my employer reduced my pay by 10%, but I have continued to fulfill the same role and responsibilities as before. They stated that this was a standard procedure for all returning part-time mums at our company, as it's pre-determined that I would be unable to fulfill the same job role on a part-time basis. So my question is - is this lawful?? I thought I was entitled to return to the same job on the same terms and condition as before - does this still apply if I only work 3 days a week instead of 5?? Where do I stand on this one?
