I am currently on maternity so receiving my maternity pay monthly from my employer. This month a deduction has been taken out of my wages without me being informed first which is frustrating anyway but especially when I am on a low income now.

Apparently the deduction is because my employer overpaid everyone's tax 2 months ago so has taken it back - should I have been informed of this first?

I just want to check before I complain to them about it to make sure I'm right?
