Post subject: devastated Hi..............in need of advice!
Me and my partner have been trying to concieve our first child for 14 months, I am 23 and my partner is 26, we have recently managed to get doctors on our side which has resulted in fiance having S.A done. Have recieved results back after two tests done both confirm partners sperm count as very low. Doctor has told us it will be impossible to concieve natuarally Since then I have had blood test done, waiting for results to come back, got all fingers crossed that there is no further set backs with me. Doctor has said we will then be referred to fertility clinic. We are both devastated at the situation, we have been together for 8 years and have had our future planned out for many years, now we have been hit with this. To make it worse we have no one to talk to, as we dont want to tell family and friends till we know the full facts, and our doctor is not the most symathetic! We would like to know what to expect next, how long will it take to see specialist, what will happen at fertility clinic, what are options are etc... Our doctor didnt really give us opportunity to disscuss this. Has anyone experienced similar situation? And what was the outcome for you? Is there any hope???? Will be greatful for any replies! Post subject: Sorry to hear about your bad news
We just got the results of my husband's SA back today, and it's not good news for us either We have to have another test done in three months-during which time he needs to give up smoking and watch his diet, but I'm not holding out great hopes for unassisted conception. Not really surprised by the result as we've been trying for several years, but still a blow, especially for hubby, who is rather down Posted: Mon Jun 13, 2011 8:47 pm

Waiting time makes matters 10 times worse! Really feeling for my partner he seems to be blaming himself for this, feeling absoulutley devastated as a couple but cant begin to think what he must be thinking. I have posted same topic on ttc forum, one lady has posted a similar situation where she was told her and her partner wouldnt concieve natuarally, they now have a baby girl!! So maybe there is some hope for us.......... Posted: Mon Jun 13, 2011 8:50 pm

You could also have OH take zinc, it helped my OH's little swimmers quite a bit! Don't give up hope, there are still many options open to you!
Good luck Ive had him on zinc and folic acid the whole time we have been trying!! Both sick of taking tablets now!! We just need to take every day as it comes, and not give up!
