Post subject: a desperate friend Hi Folks, my friend is desperately needing advice and I have ran out of ideas so hoping you all might be able to help!
Her wee boy is now 9mths old. He is on Gaviscon. He doesnt sleep during the day (maybe a few 10 mins catnaps but no lengthy sleep) He is calm and happy throughout the day though. At night though he is a nightmare! He has an evening routine and goes down about 8. He will sleep for a while but then wakes many times in the night and just screams. He isn't looking for milk and will tkae forever to settle back as he is so worked up. They have tried controlled crying but he will cry for well over a n hour and then is so worked up that he just wont settle. Last night he was up 6 times! My friend is beginning to struggle-they have another child so it's hard work for them. Anyone experienced this? She isnt a member of askbaby so I thought I would try and get asmany ideas as poss for her to try. I have suggested taking him to the doc as he may be in pain which why he screaming so badly. Post subject: Sorry not really much advice but when I firstdone controlled crying with my lo she screamed for way over an hour for the fitsy few nights and I just had to stick with it and we got there eventually in the end. She was probably about 9 months at the time toox

Post subject: Hi, sorry to hear about your friend baby, my lo is a very unsettled sleeper, and when he was younger he was on gaviscon and infacol, he had acid reflux, this can be made worse when lying flat, maybe if he is lying on back she could give him a pillow to tilt him a little it may. Although i know my lo is never in the same place in his cot for more than 5 minutes so may not help. If its not acid reflux causing the problem she should speak to her dr.
this is a long shot but worth a mention !! Hope she gets some help with this as their is nothing worse than a baby that doesnt sleep and screams all night. _________________  ]
