Daily routine with a baby?

Post subject: Daily routine with a baby? Hi,
I am just wondering does any one else feel they do house work none stop? I have a 6 month old son and I am exhausted! If its not washing its drying,ironing,putting away, sorting clothes, dishwasher, making puree, washing bottles, making milk bottles, hoovering, feeding or watering pets, washing up, mopping up sick, making beds, picking up toys, cooking, putting bins out, cleaning bathrooms, feeding baby..... you get the idea! I dont have much time to chat and play with my little guy, If I can get him to nap in his chair I might get a rest or time to wash my hair etc but he is not a good sleeper so after dinner its off to bed and it all starts again the next day! I know people keep saying house work can wait but it cant if I dont wash clothes and bottles and do meals the family would suffer, is it just me? Posted: Wed Aug 22, 2012 12:26 pm
Post subject: Snap!!! Only i have 3 lo's. I dont spend as much time playing wirh them as i would like bwcause theres always something round the house to do, and like u say... if i didnt do it we would suffer x

Post subject: I find it such a struggle, I hate dirt and mess but with 3 small kids all at home everyday its impossible, between breakfast lunch tea and snacks then tidying and washing up after and bath times and also my eldest is potty training so constantly emptying the potty and wiping wee up and changing the others nappys and giving baby his bottles (which take him an hour to drink each one) I really really struggle to manage the rest of the house work, i always have a massive pile of washing to sort out , hardly ever manage to have a proper play with kids and thats just ding the basic chores

Post subject: yep! reckon its the life of a mum. And it definitely gets harder the greater the number there is to run around after!Yes you're more used to it when on numbers 2,3 or 4 etc, but the workload definitely goes up and the amount of mess they make more than doubles when theres two of them playing and two of them wrecking the place! I must admit there was a while when i was on little to no sleep at night (Maria was a dreadful sleeper for months and months with her being so small she needed the night feeds for much longer than the 'average' baby) and running round after two of them was very difficult never mind not even having the time to do all the housework i needed to do it was very stressful but at last we are all kind of falling into a routine and it does get easier. But i definitely spend the biggest amount of my time (unfortunately) cleaning and housework, and more than i would like in terms of play time and interaction with the kids.

Post subject: its the same in our house, never tidy! You cant win either you either feel bad that you havent played with LO or bad that the house is a tip - wish I could have a full time cleaner and a full time chef my problems would be solved

Post subject: EXACTLY the same in my house! And I go back to work on september 21st so Ive then got to fit it all in and work!
 (which I know alot of mums do, but im just thinking how am I going to do it?!  Im tired enough as it is  )
I know we'll get into a routine and as long as Im organised, like getting things ready the night before when im at work next day etc.. then ill manage! I know what you mean though, its non stop!! It definately is just what mums do! We are amazing  Posted: Tue Aug 28, 2012 8:04 am
Post subject: I seem to have found a routine that works for us
In morning I put little one in high chair in kitchen while I Completly clean the kitchen then we both have breakfast in there .. And I do the pots we just used.. Then we play together n while she is entertained I Take 5 mind to do dusting. Then she will have a nap at 9am and I turn into turbo woman .. I Hoover, put washing in and sort out washing that was drying from yesterday.. ( sometimes have a quick shower ) then she wakes up
And we play again! Till dinner time when we both go into kitchen she watches me cook so keeps her quiet cleaning as I go
Then we play till about 2 when she will have a big sleep.. I get anything else I need doing done.. So bedrooms or putting away clothes.. Etc.. Then we play again
Till tea time at 6 .. Bath at half 7 n by 8 I watch tv programmes I recorded during the day
I don't spend all day cleaning! I spend all day with baby n slot in cleaning in between .. My house isnt immaculate but its always clean..sometimes tidy lol! pots and washing is always done n were all fed at the right times

Post subject: niether my son or daughter nap in the day ( my son has 20 mins here and there and i spend that time doing things with my daughter, i fit in what housework i can in between going to work and playtime and i also go to 3 groups a week with my kids ( i hate staying in all day)i luckily have a husband that picks up the slack! in fact hes cooking dinner right now while im chilling!
