Post subject: baking question..
i am making a desert that needs all butter biscuits, will a different biscuit do the same job?? ie digestive?? i dont live in the uk so finding it hard to find ???

all butter biscuits will do as opposed to digestives is make the biscuit crumb taste more moist and soft. If you show me the rest of the recipe I can tell you how much of a difference (or what esle you could add) to help it out Smile

Thanks for ur reply,this is the recipe. It is for a no bake choc tart. Would short bread be any good? thank u for ur help Smile

200g pack all-butter biscuits
100g butter
1 tbsp golden syrup or honey
100g bar dark chocolate
100g bar milk chocolate
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp icing sugar , plus extra for dusting
200ml whipping cream
3 tbsp crème fraîche , to decorate
200g raspberries , to serv

I've used shortbread mixed with melted butter for a cheesecake base before (just because I REALLY like shortbread Laughing ) and it worked great. I would just say don't make it too think as it will be tougher to cut into than a digestive base.

Yay, thats good to hear, as i went ahead and brought shortbread today, as got to make it 2moro. I love love love shortbread too, lol. Thanks for the tip!

I would make sure you butter the dish very well (before you put the base in) and add 1/2 tsp more butter and it should be fine Smile
