I've noticed my daughter has a bit of sticky mucous discharge coming from her foof...is this normal? She's only 2 days old and still passing miconium poo and doing the odd wee.
She's been mucousy anyway which I'd expect at this stage as she's been living in amniotic fluid for months..but is this discharge normal?
Mws coming in the morning so I'll ask her but just want a bit of reassurance really

Hi zee - yes totally normal. It won;t last too long. Girls also so sometimes have a small 'bleed' from there too, but it is just hormones from you and also perfectly normal so don't panic!

Ooh thanks for the heads up..I think I'd have totally freaked if that happened. Lol
I'm so used to boy babys so not sure about all the girly stuff

Thankfully my friend gave me the heads up on this, and also they can leak 'milk' (boys aswell) from their nipples. Although the mw at the day after discharge mentioned it aswell.

Out of my 3 girls Anais is the only one to have bled, if i hadnt have had 2 girls alreadt i would have worried xx

Yes, completely normal, Naia keeps getting it. It's basically a mini period but without the blood - its because she's still got mummy's hormones within her.

Funny enough she did have spotting in her nappy the next day after I did this thread. I was just taking the nappy off as the mw was weighing her and noticed it, she too said it's like a mini period.
It's cleared now as has the discharge.
