babys surname help!!

Post subject: babys surname help!!
my baby is due in april and the babys dad has left at the start of the pregnancy
i want to know if i can use the same surname as my daughter for the babys surname
even though her dad isnt this babys dad and then leave the father as absent on the
banys birth certificate once the baby is born? any help would be brill

I think if you are married then you can put your oh name down without them being there. But i dont think you will be aloud to put a mans name down without them being present if you are not married.
