I have tried googling but can't find anything about this specific situation. My OH is a painter and decorator. His company mainly take on outdoor contracts and at this time of year the work can dry up so most of their employees have been temporarily laid off, at different stages, this winter. OH has been laid off since middle of November and others were laid off a few weeks after him.
He has now found out that the boss of his group of painters has asked a few men to return to work and these men were laid off after my OH. He is obviously angry about this but can he do anything about this? Is there any law saying his boss can't have employees back when there are others who have been out of work longer? _________________

no I don't think there is If he was layed off correctly then when they recruit they can recruit who they like sorry. _________________
