For about a month or so now, my DD, 9 months old, has started waving to herself. At first we were excited because she was doing it while watching her Baby Shows and we assumed she was waving (backwards) to her friends on tv. But she does it ALL the time now. When she is crawling, she will stop, look at her hand and move it like she is waving to herself. Then she will continue on as if she never stopped to look. She will be playing with a toy or looking at a book and she "waves" (opens and closes her hand/s)as well. She seems pretty normal to me, but I think this is a bit odd. We have been teaching her sign language since she was about 3 or 4 months old so we thought maybe it was her version of a sign or way to communicate. Maybe she is talking to herself?!? Any thoughts?! We go for her 9 month shots in 2 days and I want to bring it up to her doctor. Any comments are appreciated!
