Missed twin

Post subject: How funny - was just hear to ask the same!
 I googled it and apparently it is rare but can happen. I am nearly 27 weeks and still think there is more than one in there!  Plan to ask my mw to feel extra carefully next time I see her! x_________________

I had a scan 2 weeks ago at 11w3 or so the sonographer said but she wasn't very thorough and we was in there all of about 5 mins max! When u look at my scan pic it shows 2 faces one behind the other but she said it was a single pregnancy? Really quite confused x Posted: Tue Mar 12, 2013 4:02 pm
Post subject: It happend on my FIL's wifes first scan , she had one because she had pains so they wanted to rule out an ectopic, they said all was well and there was one healthy baby in there, this was at 8 weeks .
At her routine 12 week scan they got the news there were actually TWO healthy babies in there   they were identical twin girls who shared a placenta , she was told its very unusual for them not to spot the second twin but not unheard of when they're small depending on how they're lying as a scan machine basically just gives you a picture in a slice through the uterus , a bit like an MRI does with your body,so if one is in front of the other in the uterus they might not pick it up , to be honest the way 2d scans work you wouldn't really see something in the background like you could if you took a picture with a camera so the second face on your pic could just be a blurry pic , maybe because baby moved as it was taken  xx
