Post subject: swelling
I am asking this for my sister. She is 33ish weeks (i cant remember, lol) and her one ankle/foot is swollen. she is normally quite skinny so it is very obvious.

I have told her to just take it easy and try and keep her foot up, but I just wanted to make sure it is quite normal and nothing to worry about.

I would personally get any obvious sudden swelling checked out at the hospital. I wouldn't leave anything to chance like that as you hear all sorts about the dangers and signs of swelling. I would advise she calls her mw asap and see what she thinks xx

Hi
i had the same with my pregnancies, my feet would swell. sometimes one would swell and sometimes both would swell.
i would mention it to the dr/midwife so that they can monitor.
hope this helps.
xx

Since posting this my sister has been in and out of hospital being monitored for her BP.

She was due to be induced at the end of next week (38 weeks) due to pre existing diabetes, but they have already been giving her steroids in case they needed to bring him out earlier.

Im keeping everything crossed for them both to be ok.
