Post subject: Braxton Hicks Hello Girlies...!!!
Im 30wks pregnant & seem to be getting Braxton Hicks EVERYDAY.....???? This is the first time in five pregnancies this has happened,should i be worried at all about a premature labour being brought on? Has anyone had them everyday till birth?? well im 30 wks and have been having them for about 5 wks now!! didnt have them when i was expecting my daughter but this time round its everyday and as the weeks go on they have been getting stronger. i spoke with my midwife about it a couple of weeks to go and she told me not to worry and it doesnt mean you have a higer risk of prem labor. just try to relax when you get them hun. i find i get mine more in the evenings do u? not long to go now though. x _________________   Posted: Mon May 05, 2008 4:43 pm
Post subject: Hi dawnb,its good to know someone else is going through the same,your not on your own then....i tend to have them mid morning then late afternoon,but they are so random throughout the day thers no paticular pattern at mo..!!!! im to be induce in 8wks so not long but these wks do drag on...

Post subject: hey i dont think its premature labour as i hed 2 of my boys really early and the labour doesnt start with little pains like normal labour it just kicks right in i was only in labour for 28 min with my first son

Post subject: Hi dawnb....they want to induce me coz i had a stillbirth nearly four yrs ago now,and rather then wait they want to get things moving.....i went for a scan today and hes moving well wouldnt keep still for them to take measurments..lol...they got frustrated in the end, even joked that they would make sure they werent on the shift in ultrasound when i go back....Nice eh..lol.....x x

Post subject: does anyone know if it is possible to get braxton hicks a about 21-22 weeks, been feeling cramping in my tummy, sometimes painful sometimes not? and my tummy goes rock hard? wondered if they were braxton hicks.. rang my strange number for hospital and woman i spoke to there wasnt really much help she just said that if it gets worse to go to the doctors and get it checked out (as my next midwife appointment isnt until end of may) anybody got any ideas ??

Post subject: hiya, yes im sure its possible at that stage in pregnancy, also sometimes as baby turns into a funny position it can make your tummy feel hard and tight so it could also be that causing your discomfort. As baby is getting bigger everyday and running out of space.
if its happening lots everyday and the pain is unbearable i would pop in and see your doctor/midwife just to be sure... theres nothing wrong with getting these things checked out, especially as peace of mind for you is so important right now. good luck, hope things settle down for you. x _________________ Posted: Wed May 07, 2008 9:09 am
Post subject: B Hix Its funny how when you first tell people your pregnant they forget to tell you about all the weird things your body does!!! I started having tight tummy around 20wks and it continued on right through till my 39th week. I was pleased I was having them thinking it would prepare me for labour pains, never ended up having a labour anyway!! Never be shy about getting things checked out if your worried though, its your body and you have a right to know whats happening. I kind of envy you, I have a son but not having more kids but I miss the pregnant feeling!!!
