Post subject: Hi
I'm new on here. My advice is DON'T listen to them. After 4 failed IUI and 2 failed IVF the specialist told my partner and I to give up trying as because of my age - 43 - he said I had no chance of ever becoming pregnant because my eggs were no good!! In March this year I fell pregnant naturally, my baby is due on 4 January and despite me being sick from 11 weeks onward and developing carpal tunnel and SPD, everything is progressing well with the babyand we can't wait At least you know you can get pregnant so keep at it girl - fingers crossed for you x Posted: Thu Nov 15, 2007 2:43 pm
Post subject: agree with Shandy - don't let it worry you! I'm 34 (turn 35 in Feb) and my first baby is due in 3 weeks. We tried to conceive for well over a year, and the doctor started to talk about age as a factor etc etc. It's all nonsense - if its meant to be its meant to be! Enjoy your pregnancy, but do be aware of your limits. I find I need lots and lots of sleep, and some of the physical activities 18 year olds can do when pregnant is definitely beyond me!
Just take it easy and enjoy. Hope it all goes OK Anna Posted: Sun Dec 09, 2007 10:32 pm
Post subject: My mum had me and my 2 brothers in her 30's....and then had my youngest sister at the age of 42! My mum tells me they had concerns about the pregnancy, but it all went smoothly and now my sister is a beautiful 14 year old who keeps my mum very busy! With me and my brothers all being in our twenties i really think it has kept my parents younger having a younger child/teenager in the house. Good luck! xx

Post subject: OLDER MOTHERS Just to let everybody know I had my dating scan yesterday and saw baby for the first time, Im eleven weeks so not quite over the danger period but it was so reassuring to see the little heartbeat. Thanks for all your kind replies, I will still worry until baby is born but at least I know I have friends out there to talk to if I need to. Happy New Year All
