Post subject: Easy Christmas ideas
Hi,

I am thinking of making up a homemade hamper for my uncle and aunt for Christmas and wondered if anyone had any ideas of what I could make?

I was planning on doing some biscuits, which I already had a recipe for, but any other ideas and recipes for relatively cheap and easy things to make?

Thanks, LD

My sis did a hamper for my dad last yr and she did some baileys truffles, they are actually really easy to make, she also did some caramelised nuts, like walnuts, peacans etc, she put them in a little bag with a ribbon, like the ones little chocolates come in from thorntons! xx

I read a recipe in my Red magazine for hamper goodies and it was to slice dried apricots, prunes and dates down the middle (but not in half, so you kind of open them) and fill with pieces of marzipane or chopped nuts and then to dip into melted white, dark or milk chocolate. Could work out a bit expensive but you could always change how you do it slightly. Then once they;re all done you put them in layers into one of those nice little gift boxes and tie with a ribbon. You could make short bread, thats usually something i asociate with xmas! Good luck hun a hamper is a really good idea! xx

Just read your post, you can do coconut ice, fudge, dried fruit with white or dark chocolate on it, biscuits, chutney, hocolate mint sticks, creal bars. I made one for my FIL he loves hampers. x
