midwife appt?

Post subject: midwife appt? im 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant, and just wanted to know when i will have my first appt with a midwife or anybody really!? I went to my gp at 5 weeks and he basically said that he doesnt do anything yet and to keep our fingers crossed that all goes well! Does anyone know if i have to make this first appt (if so when?) or will i be contacted by my gp at the time? thanks all x

Post subject: it depends on wot ur trust policy is.
in my hospital the woman is expected to ring the community midwife to arrange a booking appointment. its usually when ur around 8-12 weeks- this takes around 30 mins to an hour and the midwife will take all ur information. she will then refer u for a datng scan and this will confirm how far into the pregnancy u r. it wont do no harm if u ring the comunity midwife that ur g.p practise have and ask them if u should make the appointmet with them or if they'll send it to u. congratulations on ur pregnancy
