Hi Everyone after reading so many of your posts i thought i would add my own as looking through found a lot of advice...anyway here goes im 35 yrs old and have 2 girls 16 &8 in 2000 i had a clip sterlisation done as now i feel made a very hasty decision as was not in stable relationship at the time..so situation now is i have been with my husband for 4 yrs now and we got married last year we have been talking the past yr regards to having a baby my husband has 2 boys to previous marriage...So we went to the docs yesterday to see whether they still do the operation on the Nhs doctor unfortunately did not know much about it but has took our telephone number to find out and will get in touch with us we both did mention tht we would consider going private if needed...don't like the waiting game!! does anyone know if they still do it on the Nhs ???soon as we know we can get the ball rolling and look into private hospitals.

Is anyone on the forum pregnant who had a clip reversal operation done??? how long did it take iknow everyones different

Well looking forward to chatting to you all....feel im going to make lots of friends in the forum who are in same boat

Tc Love Jojo x

Hi jojo

I recently had my op on 15th Dec at Spire Brentwood. i did ask about NHS but was told not available.
My op was open surgery and i was so scared about it but was so surprise that i wasnt in agony after the op more discomfort. They glue me along opening and now you can hardly see it as its healed really well. For the first week i didnt do much atall but by the second week i managed to get around allot better. I went back to work on 4th week.
The only complication i have had after is a urine infection which i was given.

Hope this helps its quite weird now ttc and im hoping for a positive this month!
Oh and my op cost £2566 for 2 nights all in.

Flossey x

Hi
I had mine done privately on 19/12/08. I had key hole which was great for me as i havent told anyone ive had this done. I left hospital same day. i was out shopping (only for a few hours) on the 23/12. Visited my mom on the 26/12 just said i had a bad back to explain my slow rising out of a chair- she never guessed id had surgery- back at work the 29th and no one knew/suspected i had anything done. I had very little pain- stopped taking the pain killers after a couple of days. Cost was £3600 including the initial consultation maybe an extra £500 for anaesthtist but ive not had his bill yet! key hole is definitely less invasive but you need to find the correct surgeon to perform it. Some say open is better they have more room to work- mine said that was rubbish and he perferred key hole and those that say that dont have the skill. You pay your money you to take your choice. Key hole my surgeon was charging £1200 open £700 but i didnt need any over night hosptal stays.

Hi
I had my op done in the USA, open surgery and it cost $5900 (about 3000.00 last year). Surgeon was Dr Berger in Chapel Hill, and i was in and out the same day - virtully pain free - i was amazed. (he has done over 7000).
I had rings on my tubes, and clips and rings are the easiest to reverse.

Some PCT's do do them on the NHS. Mine does if you dont have any children with your partner - but we'd already had IVF so we were scuppered! Mad

No bfp for me yet, although my tubes were good lengths 5cm & 7cm. Just waiting for a dye test now to check they are still open.

Good luck.

Julie xx
