I named my baby Mikaylah so I could call her Mickey after my grandmother. But I realized that the two most horrible people I have encountered in my past and been traumatized by had similar names: Mike and Michael. This is causing me a great deal of anxiety. She is nearly 4 months old now and I don't know what to do!

Sorry to hear your not happy at the moment.

If it was me i would keep the name, its lovely and different and to be honest soon you wont even think about them having similar names because ul just be seeing it as your babys name and no-one elses. xx

Your reason for naming your precious baby girl is your grandma....I would consentrate on that. Look at all the great memories of her. She is the reason your baby girl has her name and no other reason!!!

i agree, be thankful, if you wouldnt have had these 'experiences' in your life, you may have been a different person and not had her at all yet.

i agree but if the name is causing you alot of problems and bad memories maybe changing it to another name. did your grandma havea middle name or could her last name be turned in to a name good luck xx

i agree... the new memories of your daughter will push any horrible ones concerning the name away... though if you really wanted an alternative you could shorten to kayla .... i think the full name is lovely.
also my brother is called michael and hes a sweet heart!! Wink
i would like to call my baby (due aug) michael but cant coz would be too confusing!
