Post subject: Older Kids
Hi All

I have older kids, okay the eldest is 18!! They seem shocked that I am pregnant, and even made some bizarre comment that at my age I should'nt be getting up to things. I am only 41!

Does any one else have older kids, and how did they take to a new baby in the house?

The other thing I am noticing is I am sooo tired, i don't remember being this time with my others, granted I was in my 20's.

Thanx
DLG

Hi DebLG,

Congrats hun Very Happy
Thought i would reply lol
My eldest is almost 16. (i'm 35) But she hates the thought of mummy 'doing it' lol Yet i do remind her that is how she came into the world !!!!
Me and my OH only have to kiss and shes like OMG !!!!!!

Yet to be honest she never had a problem with me being pregnant. She always offered to come to the midwife with me. Even changed nappies !!! Think it has put her off having any babies too young. When she used to wake up with bags under her eyes because the baby kept her awake !

Good luck hun Very Happy

Take care
Sissy

I was 21 and had just given birth to my 2nd son and my mums 3rd grandson when she told us she was pregnant and we were over the moon, i wouldnt worry to much they'll soon get over it. I was there when my little brother was born and it was the most amazing experience.

Hiya Deb

I'm 38 and my eldest daughter is 17. She was not happy at all when i told her i was pregnant but when the bump started to show and she'd helped me chose the pram etc she soon came round. She wanted to be at the birth but chickened out at the last minute bless her !! Now she says she can't imagine not having a little sister and recently when we went away for 4 days she complained she had missed her.
I'm sure your kids will love the baby to bits when it arrives !
I too felt really tired. In fact i felt a bit guilty cos my 17yr old kept saying i was boring going to bed at 9pm !!

Good luck with your pregnancy xx

Hey Deb - My two are 16 and 12, DD took pregnancy news well in fact she had read a message on my phone to my friend and knew I was pregnant before I told her Shocked but my 12 year old son wrote on a piece of paper "I am speechless" lol but he soon came round.

Am nearly 29 weeks pregnant and 40 - am absolutely shattered and am usually in bed by 9pm Laughing
