Post subject: Anyone else in the same boat?
Been reading about people's experiences on here and wanted to say hello and ask how you all cope with things.
I came off the pill over a year ago having been on it for 8 years since I was 15 when I went on it because of really painful periods (used to faint every month and at 19 was told I had small amounts of endo after a laparoscopy ) Since then, I've had 3 periods (Jan, Feb, May - last two lasted 3 weeks!) and saw a gynae at the start of June. Had loads of blood tests (apart from a day 3 LH and FSH as not HAD a day 3 yet ) and rang to sort out a hycosy scan the other day, only to be told I had to wait until my next period to book it. Helpful. Not. I get pain most of the time which worries me but gynae seemed unfazed by it!
That said - am in that waiting game thing at the moment, as an OPK was positive 14 days ago, I'm certain from other signs that I did ovulate and now have been feeling sick, moody, sore breasts, tired etc for a few days. Thing is - no way of just knowing if that's AF on her way or not as I'm still not sure what's normal for me. BFN so far, but I'm trying to stay positive.
anyway, sorry for long post, but it does help to get it off my (currently sore) chest! My Mum's not very well at the moment, and there's not really many people I can lean on (BF's are both trying and having no joy either so we just tend to wallow in shared misery and end up feeling worse about it... )
How about anyone else? What are your experiences? How do you cope?
Baby dust to us all!

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through so much at the moment - All of us ladies who are experiencing problems just have to keep on trying!!
I'm almost 36 and me and my man decided to TTC - we are trying for our first baby, and we have been trying now for 5 months...Even though when I have a period it appears to be normal, I don't even know if I ovulate because I don't always have any signs of ovulation and I don't even know if I can get pregnant!!
My cycle is also very irregular and this really doesn't help, so this month I have decided to have as much sex as possible and I have also just bought some ovulation testing sticks to see if I am actually ovulating at all!!
The symptoms you are experiencing sound as though they could be pregnancy symptoms, as a lot of other ladies on here have described very similar symptoms to yours and they then had a BFP!! - I really hope you get your BFP after all you have been though and I've got everything crossed for you!! Take Care, Jo xx

Post subject: im in a similar boat!
Me and my partner are TTC for the past 3half years with no luck wat to ever,i dont know who to turn to as the doctors are being no help no matter how many secound thrid or forth opinons i ask for!
I have had irregular periods since i can remember,i kept going back to the doctor and they kept saying give it time, and beginning of this year I went back to the doctors and explained that Iím not pregnant but still have the most irregular period Iíve ever none and want action taken! The doctors finally took notice and done some swabs and blood tests, the swabs were all fine. But my bloods came back with a slight problem; it showed that my hormone level is very low. The doctor explained that my level was 4 and should be between 14 Ė 90, so my question to the doctor was were do I go from here. Now from what I have managed to find out my self is that with low hormones the way they are in not actually ovulating! i have been taking vitamins to help (angus cactus) which is suppose to boost ovulation ,how every i have noticed some changes in my body since taking these. I get sore breast and slight cramping could this be me starting to ovulate?....ÖI have been back to the doctor and complained that I need some action to be taken as 3 half year with no action is stupid, the doctors answer is lose weight and we may consider it. Now Iím 5í8 and weight 12half stone, I donít think I need to lose weight, I just seem to be throw hurdle after hurdle. Also the doctor said that there is no rush to fix me as Iím only 24 and have time on my side! Im so upset and fustrated with the lack of info and help im getting.

I think it all sounds really promising - esp being 14 days post ov, and no af yet. HCG in the urine can take a while to come up, so unfortunately you might just have to wait. Just wanted to wish you good luck and send you lots of babydust. As for how to cope, well, manage it some months, but know if I get af again this month I will be very very gutted.
Take care Rachel, keep us posted Pipsx

Thanks for the messages of support - been away all week on a training course so it was nice to come back to these!
As it turned out, I do just get really bad PMT - AF turned up on Tuesday. Which I'm trying to take as a good sign since that hopefully means things are settling down.
Off for a hycosy scan on Wednesday so long as AF stopped by then - ugh.
And Vickie - def go back to your docs - maybe see someone different if you can?

hi vickie - I would def demand from the dr's to see a specialist - and dont let them use the weight issue as an excuse to put you off. If you can afford to go private then def do that (its not cheap but you get answers and treatment immdiatly), its weird how some gp's automatically refer you and others dont. I went to my gp after 12 months of trying - burst into tears and they did the bloods and dh swimmers test for me, when that came back all ok they then referred me to check my insides were ok, luckily had private insurance so saw OBGYN straight away and had laporoscopy, and all was ok.
Aevenstar - i hope your hycosy scan went ok?
