How do people feel about giving babies a dummy. Im am breastfeeding and not sure if this will cause problems with feeding. xx

I am also breastfeeding and Freya has a dummy. I gave it to her when she was about a week old and it has not affected her feeding at all.

leon as a dummy n its a godsend lol. i read that if ya breast feed u sud wait a month bt i dont no if its true cse it aint effected tracie baby. xx

Apparently the Tommee Tippee closer to nature dummies are really good for breast feeders, they stretch, and flex like a nipple. They look funny though, but if they are more natural, must be good.

im not breast feeding but i have the tomme tipee dummies for alfie, they look just like a teat off a bottle but are a god send! i never used one with my daughter as she managed to suck her thumb but i get another hours peace with the dummy now...he only has it though if he wakes with a fidget on when hes not due a feed.

my daughter didnt have a dummy for first few weeks but then had to give in and give her one it made her setlle so much better and she just has it for night time now.

It wont cause any problems honey, Kaitlin didnt bother with one for the first month, but I started giving it to her for bedtime so she would learn to use that instead of my breasts to get to sleep!!!!!

thanks for your replies I have given in an let him have one and he does seem to settle when normally I think I would try to feed him, it seems to calm him down when all he needs is to have a bit of comfort. xxx Many thanks
