Post subject: Earthquakes
Yea thats a topic out of the blue!! I was reading in one of the forums today (maybe from you lillamb? about the kind of things you worry about now you have a babe) how much of a slim chance that you would ever feel an earthquake. Ok so this is a weird question, but you guys dont get them over there? At all? I assume that most of you have never felt one then? Wow.

Oh so its just not a regular thing. New Zealand it basically just 1 big fault line, plus we have 2 rumbling volcano's, 1 city is full of thermal activity like gysers and hot mud pools and in the South Island we have 2 resorts built on other thermal active areas but they are hot water pools, many of which you can sit in.....and relax.......... Very Happy There are earthquakes here everyday but we dont feel alot of them thank goodness. The town where I live is built on a fault line 2 Laughing My mum survived one of the our biggest earthquakes when my older brothers were babies, their house was destroyed and mum had to climb uphill to the neighbours house because the ground had been lifted so much during the quake. As kids we are brought up and made aware that 'the big one' can hit anytime and how to be prepared and to quake safe your house. You dont know what you are missing!!!! Laughing
