Post subject: DOES THE MIDWIFE LISTEN FOR HEARTBEAT ON BOOKING IN APPOINTM
I am 8 weeks pregnant, I have my booking in appointment on Wednesday next week when i will be 9 weeks so its probs going to be at least 12/13 weeks before I get my scan.
I was wondering if the midwife would listen for a heartbeat when I see her or would it be too early.
I am panicking after reading so many stories on here about missed miscarriages, I have been getting slight period like cramping on and off since I conceived really, my stomach is not at all hard and I did have nausea last week but now its died off, also my boobs are not as painful as they were just a bit tingly.
I have had no bleeding but it seems like forever to wait until my scan as its going to be at least a month.
Has anyone got any advice
Bye for Now

Hi Claire, I didnt hear the heartbeat until i was 29 weeks at the midwife appointment. But, they will be able to see it at the 12 week scan. I dont think they can hear a heartbeat at such an early stage
Try not to worry, we've all been there, and i became obsessed that it was going to happen to me. I also analysed every symptom I had, trying to work out if I was going to be ok! All i can say is, try and be patient and wait for your scan, once you've had that and seen your little one on the screen, you will feel so much better x
