Post subject: endo & disappointment
hi,
we have been trying for a baby for about eight months now without any luck and it's starting to get me down in a big way. i'm only 27 and live a healthy lifestyle, yet everyone around me seem to fall pregnant at the drop of a hat except me. any advice on how to cope?
also, i have slightly weird periods, they start out very light for a number of days before the normal heavy period start, which doc now thinks might be endometriosis. that really worries me. not being able to have a baby would be the worst thing that could happen to me. anyone out there who has endo and knows the story with getting pregnant?
any help would be really appreciated. thanks x

Hi mimilo
Just read your note below & just wanted to reassure you that having endo doesn't always mean you won't get pregnant. I have endo & have had it since I was about 20 (I'm now 39). Have been with my OH for 10 years & weve been trying for 8 years. We decided to go for IVF as I was put down as having unexplained infertility even though they knew I had endo. Had 4 ops over the last few years to try & get rid of the endo but nothing worked. Started IVF in Jan08 but had to abandon the first cycle because they found a large cyst on one of my ovaries.
Anyway, to cut a long story short I am now 11 weeks pregnant. Caught naturally even though I think the IVF drugs might have given my body a shove...
So, I just wanted to say do not give up hope. If your doc thinks you have endo then make sure they follow it up with a hosp appt to see a gynae consultant. They should recommend a laparoscopy to confirm if it is endo & tell you what you can do. Keep pushing them though, some docs are not too helpful.

Hope this helps a bit Smile

Post subject: DON'T GET DOWN YET...
HI I JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU A VOTE OF CONFIDENCE. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR TEN YEARS. I HAVE WEDGE RESECTIONS DONE ABOUT 8 YEARS AGO, WAS ON CHLOMID IT DIDN'T WORK, AND FOUND A GOOD DOCTOR THAT DID EXPLORITORY SUGERY ON ME AND FOUND I HAD STAGE 3 ENDO AND TOOK IT OFF OVARIES AND PUT MY ON LUPRON (FAKE MENOPAUSE) FOR 6 MONTHS AND ALSO DIAGNOSED ME SITH PCOS. WELL IENDED UP PREGNANT IN 2004 ONLY TO LOOSE TO M/C. MY DOCTOR JUST STARTED ME ON CHLOMID AND HCG SHOT AND AFTER 5 CYCLE I AM NOW 6 WEEKS PREGNANT. IN FACT WAS WORRIED CAUSE HAD A LITTLE SPOTTING TODAY AND WENT AND HAD A SCAN AND EVERYTHING IS PERFECT SAYS DOCTOR. SO I THINK ALL WILL BE WELL. IM NOT SYAING YOUR DR IS NOT GOOD BUT YOU MAY WANT TO REFER TO A SPECIALIST OR HIGH RISH DR. SO THEY CAN TEST YOU FOR PCOS SINCE PERIODS ARE WEIRD AND EXPLORITORY SURGERY. I'LL KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYERS. JUST KEEP THE FAITH. TRUST ME I HAD A LOT OF CRYING DAYS AND NOT WANTING TO BE AROUND OTHER PREGNANT FOLKS. BUT HEY YOU GOT US.
