Post subject: Why does this happen? Is this normal?
I am 23 weeks pregnant, and I love my sex with my fiancee.
I am experiencing a problem though. And Im not sure if this is normal, which is why I am comming to you other ladies about this.
When I have sex with my fiancee. I start to get cramps. And they hurt. This hasnt happened when i first got pregnant, but it is happening now. Why?
Is this normal?
Do you have any ideas on how to be able to have sex and for it to not hurt or have cramps?
Is there something wrong with my baby?
Is there something wrong with me? Confused

i had sex throughout my two pregnancys ( couldnt do without it Laughing ) its a great way to find new positions etc and had loads of laughs, just be careful and enjoy,
I did notice that the sex changed in the way that it was more loving and relaxed, ( no more ripping clothes off etc Razz ) my other half used to massage me for at least half an hour before , and made a good atempt at not falling asleep straight after Laughing

Hello there!
Firstly if in doubt you should be speaking to your doctor / midwife to be on the safe side.
Secondly i presume the pains are in your stomach been as you didnt actually say?
If this is the case im sure it is just normal part of being pregnant and having sex, though as said if your worried contact ur doc or mw, they know loads more stuff than us Laughing

Hi Lisa Marie, I am 24 weeks and have asked my midwife and others before on here about the same pains. Everyone has said that it's absolutley normal to have cramps after sex and that can be just the orgasm (sorry!!!!) making your uterus contract which can be the crampy feeling. Midwife said some people have light bleeding afterwards but said this was nothing to worry about unless it was heavy or the cramp pains were prolonged and unbearable. I've found some positions better than others and sometimes there's nothing and other times it's a bit uncomfortable for a bit after. Good luck! xxxxxx
