After a really rough few months and losing Eleanor - I lost my Gran today.
She was one of a kind - and she was 95 - so she'd had a really long and full life. She had a stroke at Christmas, and had to move out of her house (at 94) and it was downhill from there really (she hated the home and the loss of independence) - and she also broke her hip last month. Losing her indepenence really took its toll, and she had a massive heart attack yesterday.
She fought like a trooper, but finally lost her fight this afternoon. She will be missed so so much - for all the wonderful history and stories she used to tell - its the end of an era.
I feel privileged and proud to have known her - and my children were also very lucky to have such a lovely Great Grandma - not many are so fortunate - i never knew my great gran.
Sleep tight Gran - i hope you are looking after Eleanor and are watching over us all.
Love Julie xx _________________

Aw I am so sorry to hear you have lost your Gran.
I lost my Nan in May and still find it hard!
I am sure your Gran is now with Eleanor...and will look after her!
My thoughts are with you at this sad time.

Thanks ladies,
funeral is on tuesday, and although i'm sad, im happy she had such a good life. I'm dreading it because its going to dredge all the loss and sadness up from losing Eleanor
I sent my mum a card, and poured all the love i could into it for her. Sometimes, its hard to say how you feel, but easier to write it - and she will have that to look at when she remembers her mum.
