I know when I went to infants school, we had a list of things to be able to do before we were allowed to attend
1. KNow when to use toilet
2. Tie shoelaces
3. Be able to get undressed in 5 mins (and dressed in 5 mins)
4. Count to 50
5. Write our own names
6. Know our own address and telephone number
Mind you I suspect that these days the pc brigade would have something to say about that lmao. How about doing the rhyme thingee, thats how how learnt and its easy to remember:-
i remember starting school and they did an assessment and asked me to count, so i said 'what to?' and the teacher just said go as far as you can, so i got to about 120 before she aske me to stop! most of the kids couldnt get past 10.

Post subject: Tying shoelaces??
Why not try a reward as an incentive - something simple they can be proud of like this >> http://www.charlesclinkard.co.uk/blog/clinks-shoelace-award/ and stick it on the fridge?
