Post subject: due in 5 weeks and getting scared anyone else due near me hi there newbie here,
i am due in 5 weeks (8th october) and im getting very scared. been having really bad pains that feels like wind but i avent got wind, dont no weather its ne thing to be worried about. im sure i would no if i was going into labour and having contractions. can ne one help me out or feeling the same. Congrats on the pregnancy and you'll be meeting your little one really soon how exciting. I'm not as far gone as you but would advise you to pack your bag now as when i'm at your stage i'll pack my just in case bag as i'm hoping for a home birth but you never know things could change. So if i were you i'd do it now or quite soon. Have yu thought about your pain relief options and have you got a birthing partner that knows what you want to happen during the labour/birth as in wet spray on your face, a wet flannel or music playing to help you focus and stay calm, do you want to be mobile or lying down? is this ur first. i would like a water birth if i can as there is a birthing centre near me i would like just gas and air but you never no until ur in the sitiuation, at the brithing centre you can only have gas and air, the only thing that is putting me off the birthing centre is if ne thing were to go wrong and they need to get my baby out quick i have to be taken to the hospital which is a 10- 15 min drive. i have got a parent craft class this friday so i will talk to my midwife about it, i really want to go the the birthing centre because my partner can stay with me after i have had baby, bt if we were in hospital he wouldnt be able to. im so confused and i havent got long to decide. help x tasha xx Posted: Tue Sep 02, 2008 3:04 pm

The birthing centre sounds like a good choice, you're in a similar situation to me as with a home birth if anything goes wrong i'll have to go to hospital too and i'm just going to keep an open mind. Its just fear of the unknown as we dont know what to expect as everyones experiences are so different until it time you wont know how you'll cope. Good that your oh will be there and even if you do go to hospital he'll be there too maybe not be able to stay over but he could stay right up until they ask him to leave and come back supa early the next day. Its scary but great at the same time just focus on the great prize you'll get at the end of it all, a little person that you created its worth all the worry in the end

Post subject: am due very soon as well and cant decide if i am scared or excited
am getting strange wind like pains and stuff as well i am on tabs from doc as have also had sickness and the runs. have my bag packed already just in case good luck with it all somos x x x _________________
