if you have been working there before you was pregnant or so many weeks inot pregnacy, then no they can't. best to ask your healthvister or midwife. but they have to hold you position open for you and pay you maternity leave. it depends when you had your baby, if it was after april you are entitled to 1 year off and 9 months of that paid. if you are still unsure go to the citizens advice buero. good luck and don't let them win.
