i hvent been on here for ages as busy being a mummy to Emilia
Charlene i was due 28 oct and had emilia on 4th Nov! at half 4 am xx
Emilia is so long she was only in new born clothes for a few days and is fast out growing her 0-3 clothes !
i am breastfeedubg exclusivly which i am loving althoug on her 'hungry days; can get very tiring
i had the nasty rash come back which was making me miserable and scratching very bad espec at night but with tablets its slowliy going but they may never know what it was
Emilia is gaining weight well and was up to 11.4 last week, we have a sort of routine of feeds/naps in the day but nights are vbery hard. she suffers from colic and is up/dow #n screaming and gets un a right state bett 10n#pm-2am
after that when i finally get her settled she usually sleeps throygh till 8am!
im unable to put her down awake, she sleeps on me while winding/after a feed or needs to be rocked gently to sleep. a bit worried this is bad habit forming what do you think or is it ok as shes so young?
be glad of your opions and thoughts on it all as the health visitor tells me to put her down awake but she getss into some right states crying with her colic and i want to comfort her to get her settled.
how are you all getting on with your babies? i can't beleive shes over a month old already!
looking forward to your family chrismases?

Hi ladies! Well I wasn't meant to be a November mummy, but wanted to let you all know baby George Martin arrived on the 12th of December at 21.05pm, 12 days late weighing 10lb 5 1/2oz and 60cms long. All went brilliantly and we're home and so so contented. He doesn't even mind his big sister bashing drums by his head Hope you're all having good times with your little ones xxx

leanne the days do go fast i cant believe hes almost 3weeks but matbe thats because he was 4days old before i got to be a proper mummy and not just look at him through a cot

Where have all you November mummies gone? lol
Well We took Amelia-Rose for her hip scan last Thursday, she was as good as gold when the sonographer scanned one hip but when she turned her over to scan the other one she started really screaming which is a little bit worrying but Amelia-Rose doesn't seem like she's having problems with either of her hips, she really kicks her legs when she gets stressed out lol fingers crossed should get a letter soon with the results.
There was also a set of baby scales in the Mother and Baby room so we weighed her and she weighed just under 9lb so she's putting on weight which is good, she's getting so big though, can't believe she's 6 weeks tomorrow Where has the time gone? We have an appointment on Friday with the clinic to go get her weighed and that there and she has to get her injections from the doctor on 6th January really not looking forward to that although she didn't even flinch when she had her heel prick test so i'm hoping she'll be ok.
Does anyone know if you can combination breastfeed with the Aptamil for hungry babies? i'm not breastfeeding as much as i was as there was a few days i didn't do it due to feeling run down and she's getting more aggitated when she's trying to feed off me due to lack of milk i'm producing as a result of that, I'm scared to use my breast pump as on Friday I used it and about 15 mins after Mark had to call an ambulance as i started getting pains in my chest and couldn't breathe properly, i was taken to hospital and had blood taken, ECG and an x-ray but they couldn't find anything wrong so they think using the breast pump may have triggered spasms in the muscles or something although i'd never had any problems previously. I still want to breastfeed though
Hope all mums and babies are doing well

I used to rock tyler to sleep and we managed to get him out of the habit, our babies are so young that it's ok to give cuddles if they need it they won't want them forever! I don't think there is anything wrong with combination feeding either, finlay gets one bottle of expressed breast milk and the rest formula and he's fine.

Sounds like everybody is doing well. Cleo is now7wks old and 10lb 9oz and 55cm long. She's a happy wee thing and smiles and chuckles all the time. She tells huge big stories too She's sleeping from 10 till about 4 or 6 then i wake her at 10, or she sleeps right through till 8. We have a bedtime routine now but days are pretty hit and miss. Depends on how hungry she is and how much she wants to eat in one sitting.
Is anybody still bleeding? I've been bleeding pretty constantly for 7wks and its really starting to annoy me. I went back on the pill 3wks ago and am on my break. Hope to have a good period so it empties my womb so i don't bleed anymore. Will be going back to the docs after the new year if it hasn't stopped by then. They should scan me to look right????
Anyhoo we're all doing well x

ahhh Dee I can only dream about Finlay going through the night
he's not that bad though getting better.
how the fluff have you managed to sort out a bed time routine? I dont seem to have time to bath Finlay before his last bottle as he always wants a feed between 5 and 8 which is dinner and bath time for Tyler. ugh Im sure it will get easier
7 weeks is a long time to bleed hun have you had your postnatal check? it could be to do with going on the pill though. I stopped bleeding about 2 weeks ago.

Hey Dee I am still bleeding too and Calum is 8wks! But I have gone back on contraceptive inject so think that why-blooming pain though!
We are all doing good, though Calum has been VERY hard work as he is colicky in the evenings. Touch wood we have had 2 good nights in a row though so hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel!!! He is such a gem when contented but these past few days, if he has been awake, he has been crying. Think he has had the cold to though do that not helped.
Getting into a routine at nigh though which making things easier and he a pretty good sleeper, usually just up the once, sometimes twice.
I do remember though with Iona that this phase passes so quickly that we will all soon be looking back and wondering where our 'baby time' went!!! (although I do look forward to the nights when we dont have to get up!!!!)
Hope you are all well and had nice christmases with your wee ones!

Jade - bedtime routine starts at 9pm so Mia's already in her bed by then. They don't do 6wk checks here at all. If i want it i have to make the appointment.
mpat - ooh the injection yuck i would never touch that again. I bled for a constant 13wks on it and never went back for the next one as well as a lot of side effects.
Had a pretty heavy period last week and seem to have stopped bleeding for the past 2 days so fingers crossed it cleared me out. Cleo is growing so fast. She's getting really long now and her toes are starting to go tight in the feet of the sleepsuits. She's got a cute wee chuckle now and a wee personality You can tell what she's saying by how she looks at you now and she loves to shout at you if you don't feed her fast enough. Mia loves her to bits to and keeps sayin hiya to her lol
Christmas was nice and quiet just how i like it and my babies got spoiled rotten. Mummy ate loads of turkey and all the trimmings Diet in the new year for me i think.
Hope your all fab and had a good chriatmas.

We had a great christmas, tyler was really into it this year I can't wait til next year now 7
These past few days finlay has turned into a screamer and doesn't seem to be happy with anything...i think it's just colic but it's still awful to listen to, he also isn't getting any better at night, wanting feeds every 3 hours it's starting to take it's toll now but like mpat said we'll be wondering what happened to our babys before we know it.

Happy new year everyone!
Emilia has her first jabs tomorrow morning I'm not looking firwArd to!
I'm still exclusively breastfeding and her weight up to 12.6 the week before Christmas. She's akeeay in her own cot and room ( in sleeping bag) as kept waking herself up in the moses basket when she stretched as she's so big! I know it's not recommended befire. 6 months but had to be done and we have monitors and I check on her.
We have had some awful colic nights been in tears myself but has started getting better, gripe water has seemed To be the most help.
Starting a bath and feed routine before every bed time frim 8 every night this week, usually takes 2 hr TI get her down asleep then sleeps thu 11-6
Just trying to pull it forward and be able to get her to settle self to sleep any Advice And tips appreciated !!!
Take care everyone xxx

Hi all, been a while since i posted in this thread, i hope you're all ok.
Amelia-Rose has her immunisations tomorrow morning which i'm not looking forward to at all and then i have my post-natal check straight after.
Also, i'm so tired, i'm sleeping most of the day. My OH doesn't get in from work until about 11pm and then we eat dinner when he comes home, by the time we've finished and spent a little time with eachother there's no point going to bed as she feeds between 1-2am and then it takes an hour to feed/wind her so sometimes we don't get to sleep until about 3-ish and if she's being restless sometimes later than that. Her next feed is between 5-6am so we sleep between that feed and then we go back to sleep until her next feed between 9-10am and then again the feed after so i'm not getting out of bed until about 1-2pm, stay awake for a few hours and i'm tired again so end up going back to sleep for a few hours and then the same thing happens all over again.
I'm not getting all my housework done or anything but i just can't stay awake and am tired all the time. I'm on iron levels due to losing half my blood during c-section and then having transfusion. i'm also on anti-depresessents so don't know if that's contributing towards my tiredness...... help

Bunny I found with tyler that the more we tried to get him into a routine the more he fought it! He didn't serif settle for a while and it's something you have to teach them! Try the pouch up put down method.pouch up when they cry but as soon as they stop put them back. You can pat and sshhh them to help them go off but should only pick up when they cry and straight back down when they stop.
Lianne it sounds like normal newborn baby tiredness! When she starts sleeping for longer periods of time I'm sure you'll start to feel better

Hi everyone hope ur all ok and babies r doing well. I haven't been on for a while been busy but enjoying it. I had to give up breast feeding at 6weeks as i wasn't producing enough milk no matter wot i tried. I started to get sore and Ethan was starting to get stressed, which i hated as he is such a happy and content baby. Been bottle feeding him completely for 3wks now and it was def best option for us. I would def b/f again but would do wot i did with Ethan and put them on bottle when i can't manage no more.
Anyway i got Ethan weighed the day of our 6wk check he was 9lb2oz then. That was nearly 3wks ago. He has out grown his newborn clothes he is so long but not very chubby How often do u weigh babies now the h/v has stopped coming round to do it? I read once a month is this right?
We had a great 1st christmas together and Ethan was really spoilt. It was the 1st time in 5yrs me and OH spent the whole of xmas day together. Which was lovely
I have got a question not sure if u can help me or where i can put this in the forums. I have been started on a mini pill and i started it the 1st day of my proper period ( I have a left pco) so i ovulated on my own for 1st period which i was worried about as sometimes don't for 3 months or so. I have now been bleeding for 14days but its only been light bleeding the last 7 days. TMI i only use 1 pad or tampax in 24hrs. Is this normal and has anyone else had this? When i took the combine pill for 6yrs i never had this problem it was 7days bleeding that was it.So wondering if its coz i have had a baby?? It does say in leaflet that it can course irregular light bleeding but i haven't taken a pill continuously b4 like this 1. It says with the light bleeding the pill still works!! Im confused about it all. Sorry bout long post xx
