Me and my partner have decided we would love to foster prob short term and emergency especially kids with special needs. I thought they would be calling out for people only to be told if we are having a baby they won't start the process for another year after the baby is born. Am really dissapointed as we really wanted to do this. ah well maybe next year.

Hey, the process can take a while as well. I think it took my mum about 6 months ish from handing in the application to the panel which tells her if she can or not. I think its great though that you would be interested in doing that, a very rewarding job i think Very Happy

Yeah I know it takes a while which is why I wanted to get started now. I think I would love it as I work with adults with learning disabilities now and thought I could do this while on maternity leave. Will get there one day I hope Smile

Me and OH are going to look into fostering when our daughter starts school.
Being in care myself I think that I will be able to take that experience and be a good foster carer Embarassed
