Hi hope every one is doing ok. Lexi got weighted last week and she put on 2lb! Now 8 lb 3oz she is doing really well apart from she hates being away from me and just wants cuddles all day long which will be a prob when I return to work. She on 5oz every 3 to 4 hours ha ha. Take care ladies and hope to hear how your lovely babies are. Gettin on! Has any one else realised that most of the things they have bought for little one aren't going to get used? Lexi won't go in her bouncer or her crib. I had to lend my mums noses basket she hates the crib. Plus I had loads of breast feeding stuff but couldn't feed her as mw explanined to me that because I had severve sickness I didn't produce much milk I didn't realise a poor diet influences your milk production. But she seems happy enough on formula. X x x gosh where is the time going its flying by

Hello all,

Just checking in. George has quite bad Colic and we are getting lots and lots of crying making life really difficult. Everyone keeps saying will get better after 3 months, I'm like oh great that's only another 7 weeks then! Me and other half feel like a tag team and as I'm breastfeeding can't really leave him with someone else for some time together. Feel bad for wishing time away but can't wait till I can have just a little bit of me time again and do something like paint my nails.

Despite colic though George is thriving, weighed today and is 8lb 4oz so gained 2lb 2oz since birth. He is now starting to fit in his newborn clothes and has lovely fat tummy and chubby legs. He loves a bath which I thought he'd hate. He seems to like to almost float, get him in with me and just support his head and he floats and kicks his legs. Anyone else with boys spend most of their time getting peed on?

Tinkerbell I know what you mean about not using everything. Nanny brought him a travel cot for staying at theirs but don't think he liked it as really too big for him and when I picked him up in the early hours he was cold so did the very naughty thing of having him bed with me. George does not like his bouncer at the moment either but I expect as he gets bigger and more aware then hoping he will. Also soo many clothes don't think I'll need anything up till he's around 6 months. Also he has lots and lots of teddies don't know what we are going to do with them all. OH mum was talking about buying him a rocking horse and I put my foot down.

Tracy I have thought about expressing and got the kit it's just a case of finding the time to do it. Think I may prefer expressing by hand. Also bit confusing which boob to do and then which one to feed from next etc.

I did try dentinox but it seemed to really disagree with him, sicking his milk up and explosive poos. Trying him on infracol now but doctor said need to give it a week to work!

George also has far too many hats they seem to come with every outfit.

Hi ladies, how are we all? Babies doing well?

Had our 6 week check yesterday - George now weighs 14lb 5oz Shocked Whopping 4lb gain in his life so far hehe. All is brilliant. He's such a clever baby, properly grins and coos and can hold his head up for quite a while during tummy time - even gave me a giggle yesterday, so sweet. He's been asleep since 7.30pm tonight! George is very good at night, he tends to wake once between midnight and 3am (depending what time he goes down) then goes off again until 7ish. We've taken the stairgate off Isabelle's door so she comes into us in the mornings now, is so sweet. She runs straight for the cot calling his name and smiling at him - can tell she loves him to bits!

Got the immunisations letter through the post today, 9th Feb for my little man.

Don't have anything else to report I don't think, but hope you are all doing well and having fun with your clever growing babes xx

Hi all, George also had six week check and Doctor told me he was perfect which I though was nice.

I'm not quite as blessed at night. Normally manage to get George down around 11pm, then he wakes at some time between 2 - 4 and again around 6 - 8. Last night was awful, all was going well and both went up to bed at 11, then he was awake at 2.30 and didn't go back down till 7!

I have posted my birth story for those who are interested.

glad to hear all. Your ladies are getting along really well. well princess had 6 week check too and it turns out she has an hernia on her belly button. She still has really bad colic but her block in between 1 PM and 6 PM! Was out in town yesterday and she was screaming and a man shouted to me can you not put an dummy in her mouth to shut her up! I was so upset I cried all the way home my oh was really really angry because I was by myself and struggling a bit at the min wit the constant crying and the last thing I needed was some one to be this rude! Apart from that all going well she has her bath between 5 and 6 then bottle and often asleep by 7pm we hav another bottle between 9 and 10then bed. She often sleeps till 2 or 3 then till 5 or 6 so not too bad. Hope you all have a lovely weekend x x x x

Tinkerbell I know how you feel as George crys a lot and often inconsoluble and will not take a dummy except at night. Your nights sound simular to mine although George has his crying time between 6-10pm.

Yea Claire its really hard and draining. I just bought a sling to see if that helps comfort her. She won't take a dummy at all iv tried gripe water and that seems to help her a bit you would crying for that long would exhaust them but it doesn't. Going to take her swimming aftfr her injections next week as health visitor said it may help her. Hope you all have a lovely day x x x

Post subject: Long time....
Hi Ladies

Wow its been such a long time since I have been on here......and my god its been a hell of a few months. I have missed you all properly talking to you as there is only so much you want to publicly post on facebook!

So I am leaving back to Uganda on the 11th March. Mixed emotions.....After the break up of my relationship with Laanii's day, I literally fell apart. I am a very strong person but this shock & betrayal just hit me like a baseball bat & knocked me flat on my face....I just didn't see it coming, mixed in with having a newborn, and the sleep deprivation & living in someone elses house out of a suitcase. Its been bloody awful & I don't think I have ever felt so low in all my life. Thank goodness that I had my family around me........

Laanii's father has been trying to 'fix' us & hoping that we can work through this when I get back, but no way. I should of been back in uganda in Jan but I decided to delay it as I had this little cottage available till mid march & I just needed time to get my head around all of it. You see working with him on his businesses meant that I also lost my job, and the fact that he had this woman in my home & my bed means that my home is no longer my home, its been violated so I have lost that too. Anyway I have to now go back and face it all & face his family (who are very angry with him), but I am dreading going back. I have told him that I am keeping the house but I have been planning a major redecoration etc....to try & make it 'new' & my friend has given me sage sticks to cleanse the house of the negativity when I get there.

I have so many commitments to my charity that I must now get back & lose myself in my charity work for a while & also return to my chiropractic clinic and get back to being the therapist I am. Life really is very different to how I dreamed it would be this time last year. I would not wish this pain on anyone....but I know I am coming out the other side now & everyday that Laanii smiles & giggles at me...all I think about his 'f**k him' Its his loss & he will now miss out on so many amazing times with Laanii all because he was a total tosser. The strangest thing is that I lived & worked with this man......it makes me wonder, do you EVER REALLY know someone?? Coz I was not at all prepared for this?? I have not made it massively public here in the UK yet as I did not want to be the juicy gossip but once I get back to Uganda it will be time to change my relationship status on FB. then if they gossip, I am out the way! damage limitation!

Anyway on a better note.....

Laanii is AMAZING!! I love this little girl more & more each day. I had no idea I had the capacity to love this much...She is now just over 14 weeks & yesterday we finally packed away the newborn clothes & she is just in her 0-3's!! She weighs 10.7oz bless her but is right on track for her birth weight! She is smiling & giggling & trying to push up on her feet all the time, she is so alert & looking around all the time she is awake! Some colic but as a chiro we treat colic a lot so she has been having chiropractic treatment as well as infocol & it seems to be helping! This week she slept 7.30pm-6am!! I am amazed! She is loving sleeping in her baby hammock & I love seeing her swinging away by my bed! I am still totally breastfeeding & so pleased that I was able to do it at all! All in all I am loving being a mummy......I may have done a lot in my life.....but this is by far my best & most amazing achievement!!

So glad you are all doing well! I will make a better effort to keep posting now my head is starting to emotionally settle......just xxx

Love to you all xxx

Jst want to annouce (rather late) the arrival of Leo Riley. He was due nov but arriving late meant we r now dec club. Leo was a lot difficult thn my 1st. He has incoluble episodes of crying an often seems to b in pain. A consultant at the hospital said he has silent reflux an possible a allergy to cows protein so we using colief aptamil pepti 1 & gaviscon infant (which has been my saviour) we hv found it nxt to impossible to cope frankly tho now we r gettin smiles we r startin to c a light aat the end of the tunnel. For those of u wit colic hv u tried comfort formula?? We had colic wit my 1st & it were brilliant. We used the infacol as well an thort it were good but a friend wit same colic hated it an loved. Colief insted however if u dnt get a prescription for it it cn b costly at 12 for a tiny bottle x
