My little girl has been complaining of being tired constantly and I am struggling to get her to eat anything after 2pm because of this. This has been happening for the past 4/5 months. Originally we thought it may be lack of Iron so we started giving her daily vitamins inc. iron which seemed to have no effect. I then took her to the doctors who prescribed yet more vitamins with no iron and was told to finish the course and come back if nothing improved. It didnt so she got sent for a blood test last Thursday (a big palarva that was!). Well, the doctors just called me and said that she had abnormal liver enzymes and he has referred her to the hospital as he was unable to explain these. Being a complete dope I didnt ask any questions so have just been on the internet and kind of scared myself silly. Has anyone has any experience of this that can put my mind at rest?

Obviously not a common problem - will have to wait for the hospital appt. and take it from there then. _________________

Not sure either hun, but I would hazard a guess that it depends on which liver enzymes... If your LO is feeling worse, maybe you could call them and get an emergency appointment? _________________

It is hard but my doctor has been fab about referring her pretty much straight away. Its the fact that she's not really eating unless I cook her full meals at lunchtime (which isnt always practical) and complaining of being tired and cold. Two weeks was the earliest appt. they could give me so will wait and see what they say.

No unfortunately not - gotta wait until the 8th July! Still giving dinners at lunchtime and vice versa so that she is eating the right stuff _________________

I will do LauraG - seems to have taken ages to come around so its quite a relief that its only tomorrow. I'll probably get there and they wont actually do anything but ask more questions about how she is and refer me on again but will post an update when we get back. _________________
