Lucky I am going to try Charlie on some baby rice next month too! I am quite excited about it. Same thing going to try for a bit then try something else lile pureed carrots. He is also throwing up milk constantly, it's kinda annoying. Given up on dribble bibs, he needs a full size old fashioned bib! And your lil bubba has his first tooth, that so exciting! Keep checking Charlie I can see the little buds all ready.
Have a great holiday BrooksG, very jel!
Wow May congrats! I am missing being pregnant and the newborn stage already but definatly got my hands too full at the moment. Won't be too long for us though before number 2.
Well I went for my ultrasound yesterday, had two doctors looking at it, one fairly young the other very old. They said it looks a bit like lumpy breast tissue but couldn't be sure. Said it doesn't feel like a lump but more of a ridge as it's oval (not sure if that's a good or bad thing). Did a biopsy which really hurt. I am terrified now! Got to wait two weeks for the results! Argh!

Morning all last one before I go on holiday whoooo was up v late last night packing sure I will have forgotten something!
Girls doing really well in same room dont wake each other if one cries in night or when lily gets up at daft I clock in morning saying that think she was having a lie in this morning and soph got up !
Feel left behind with everyone giving food but miles easier to stay on milk as long as possible for me plus soph has stopped with the 9 oz bottles hv was right obviously growth spurt but she still only 13 pound so Jo where near doubling her birth weight not gonna help seen as now only taking 5 oz! Wonder if that is a sign she wants food no longer having much milk ??!!
May meant to say congrats on hubby getting a job is it local? What does he do? Good and bad timing for you.
Things still not good here Andrews folks blanked me in supermarket I just think its out of order fine do to me but not your grand kids( maybe already told ya this can't remember).
That's me signing off til next thurs Spain here I come!!!

Hope the scan results come back clear for you Bobski *hugs*
Have a lovely holiday GemB! That's a bit [*@!#%*] of Andrew's parents *hugs*
Enjoy Spain and get a tan! AAnd the food thing - I only started Samuel on food so early because he was ready and reaching for food, putting everything in his mouth and fussing on the boob - and he'd doubled his birth weight. If I could have kept him on milk longer I would have! Plus - I'm only doing first tastes so every day he gets the equivelent of a tablespoon of something pureed and every now and again a stick of whatever it is (eg - a soft carrot stick or whatever). But that is it - he still has all of his milk feeds - none of them are replaced by his solid tastes. I'm not planning on giving him actual 'meals' until as close to 6 months as I can stretch him! These few weeks a more for him to learn about tastes and texture and co-ordination... and for me to learn about what he likes and isn't so keen on. He's really surprised me though - his favourites so far by a long long shot has been parsnip and spinach - I should put a picture up on facebook of the spinach encounter - it was ghastly. He looked like the incredible hulk... and was just as strong too - he grabbed the spoon and the bowl and I ended up having to get another spoon so I could feed him as he was not letting his own spoon go for love nor money - he had his hands and feet in the bowl of spinach and when I took the whole thing away at the end he was left sucking it off his toes (disgusting little bean!) Haha - I'll get a photo up in the next couple of days
Oooh - got to go - little man just woke and today is a try of 'pear'

OH may, exciting! Here for a happy and heathy nine months lovely!
Lucky, wow first tooth already! Dont think any teeth on way yet but buds seemd kind of 'whiter' on the bottom today?
Bobski, big hugs and hopefully all comes back clear
Gemb, hope you have a fab fab holiday
Sleeping has been awful lately and i think its the hot weather and the fact that att the time it seems (although in reality isnt due to sleep deprivation!) easier to feed back to sleep. Think gotta hold out though like you may. Did try and make him leave bigger gaps between feeds and although it didnt eliminate night feeds, it did space them out more so i guess might be the way to go..
Not doing food as such yet but have let him have a chew of toast here and a suck of spent corn on the cob there. The cob in partic he loved and kept bringing it back to his mouth by pushing my hand for another suck. He also enjoyed having a good feel of the cob slipping about in his hands, he was fascinated! Gonna go baby led i think. He seems quite interested in food but his coordination isnt quite there yet and he isnt quite sitting up yet, though is starting to lift his head off the ground when i gently hold his hands when he is lying down.
Got Sophia's 3rd birthday coming round very quick now, its a week on saturday! And her party is the day after but that is still concerning us as only have six of the required ten so far. Will have to chase mums up at nursery tomorrow but not very good at all that so not looking forward to. Hope the others invited do come, partic one girl as up til recently Sophs has named her as her best friend. At least her bestie outside nursery is def coming!
Hope all are well, i know i dont post much and was late joining the thread but i do check in and enjoy hearing how you are all doing.

Good to hear from you Mandy
Just popping by to say hi. I tested again on my actual AF due date with a FRER and got a negative... though AF is now two days late I think perhaps my positives have gone and it may have been a chemical pregnancy... Still - at least I know I can get a BFP - just got to work on making it stick Roll on September!
Just getting impatient now waiting for AF - I think the least the witch could have done was turn up on time!
Hope everyone is ok and babies too!
Posted: Sun Aug 26, 2012 11:47 am
Gemma, hope you have a great holiday (although I should probably say had as you'll be back by the time you read this!)
May - sorry you didn;t get the bfp, but fingers crossed for next month.
With the food thing, I started trying a little baby rice with him as he was so sicky all the time, and the hv said early weaning might help. I tried just a few little spoonfuls of it and he seemed ok with it and for a few days it seemed to help him be less sick. But then after 2 days he went really bad and has just been throwing up the whole time so maybe he wasn't ready. Haven't given him any today and going to see how he is over the next few days, then maybe try again in a couple of weeks.
Exciting (but scary) news on the non-baby front. I have set myself up a facebook page selling craft stuff I've made. It's a bit scary in case people think my stuff is rubbish and I don't sell anything, but hey I'm giving it a go. If I can make it work I may be able to avoid returning to work for a while. Who knows. Search for Mummy Duck Designs on facebook if you want to have a look.
Anyway, got a mountain of jobs to do so best go.
Hope everyone is well. xxx

My biospy didn't work so I had to go in for another one yesterday but a different type this time. Sort of under the knife type. A lot more brutal but less painfull as this time I got pain relief! So I get my results friday, bit nervous but fingers crossed all will be ok!
May the food thing sounds hilarious. I am desperate to ween Charlie, I have all the bits ready and a box of baby rice but trying to wait until the end of next month. Lucky when I saw you had tried baby rice I thought yes excelent excuse for me as Charlie is also really sick, but alas it didn't work for you???
I just wondered if Charlie would be better being weened earlier as he is being sick constantly and still wanting one to two feeds a night. I might speak to my HV aswell as he is just 4 months.
Anyhoo little rascal is awake so will chat soon x

Hi everyone I'm back from sunny Spain great time.
May sorry to hear your news fx for next month bobski hope ya results come back clear let us know xx
Soph is full of cold really chewing on with bottles dropped from 9 oz to 5-6 not sure why really assuming her teeth and the snotty nose she has such sore red cheeks bless her 20 weeks today still not rolling over or sitting anyone else's baby's achieved this yet? I remember lily being 7 months then everything came at once. Soph can sit pretty well on my knee but not the floor.
More hassle with Andrew getting sick of it now he didn't come last night fair enough he had soph for week but he not seen lily do would think he would want to see her and says now only coming one night to see them. Feel sorry for kids.
Helen love your page an order may be coming your way if can manage to draw round lily and soph feet!!

Hey ladies - really quick catch up as am shattered beyond!
Hope your results are ok Bobski *hugs* Thinking of you x
Sorry you've got more from Andrew again GemB - you would think he'd want to see more of them *hugs*
As for the sitting/rolling etc, Samuel can sit but slumps after just a few minutes and lacks co-ordination and rolls when he feels like it (not often!)
AF finally arrived - over a week late and she's been a real COW but hey. Roll on September.
Sorry it is soooo short - but am feeling so rubbish today - will try catch up properly soon xxx
Oh - PS - Bobski - Samuel still wakes for 3 night feeds and he's on two meals a day - the 'once they're on solids they'll sleep through' thing is a myth! x

Trying to have a quick catch up, sorry if I miss anything.
Glad you had a good holiday Gemma, sorry Andrew is being such an idiot, try to think of it as him who is missing out, although I know you feel bad for the girls.
Bobski - any news yet? Hope you got the all clear.
Theo isn't sitting or rolling yet. Poppy was 5 months when she rolled and about 7 months when she finally sat unsupported! So not expecting much yet. Theo kind of supports himself sitting up but only for a nano second before falling over. He was quite keen on trying to roll, but didn't manage it, but seems to have lost interest the last week or so, just happy sitting up or laying down! Lazy thing! He has been a greedy guts the last few days, downing his 7oz bottles and grizzling for another one less than 3 hours later, and he had a night feed the night before last, which is the first for ages. Think he's either having a growth spurt or just upping his intake.
We had a lovely time at the paralympics last week, saw equestrian on Thurs pm and athletics Fri am, was amazing in the stadium particularly. Poppy loved it, although she got very tired, and Theo had a good time at home with Grandma!
Off to Centerparcs tomorrow for the week, can't wait to be able to relax once we're there! Stressful packing and organising for me, Theo, Poppy, Adrian and sorting my parents here. Should be great once we're there.
Thanks for looking at my fb page those who've had a look. It's doing ok, had a couple of orders which is nice, just hope I can make some money from it to help me avoid returning to work! Definitely let me know if you want to order something Gemma, I just about managed to draw round my two with the help of my mum holding them still! A footprint is fine too if you are able to stick some paint on their feet instead?! Not easy either way.
Anyway, hope you are all well, might not be on here much this week obviously.

Thanks so much for all your kind words! Well I went in Friday and got the all clear, all though the surgeon made me wait for what felt like ages and asked a few questions before deciding to tell me it wasn't cancer! It was such a relief, my hubby took me for a huge glass of wine to celebrate. I've been on cloud 9 since!
Anyway after my last post about weening I just couldn't wait any longer and tried Charlie on baby rice for a couple of days. He pulled a few faces but seemed to want to keep eating it, although it went a really wierd texture. So I picked up some Heinze sunrise banana and cauliflower and brocolli cheese. He quite likes the cauliflower thing but absolutely loves the sunrise banana. It goes down a storm, he gets all excited kicking his legs and screaming for more. He also feeds himself, v impressed at four months. And no has made no difference to his sleeping at all, but as he seems to love trying new things so much I am going to stick with it.
Charlie can roll onto his front and has been for a while, but looking at the other 25 or so other babies at my baby sensory group there is only a couple that can. It's been more of a problem than anything as he's rolling over in his sleep and was waking us up constantly for about a week until he learned to sleep on his front. For the first time today he managed to roll onto his back. I thought it was a fluke but then he did it again, but hasn't been able to since. They all pick things up at different paces. Charlie is same as Theo when sitting.
Fingers crossed for September May.
Glad you had a good holiday Brooks, sorry to hear about Andrew!
Hope I haven't missed anyone out. Hpe you all had good weekends!

Hi ladies - quick catchup while the little man is catching forty winks - don't think it'll be a long nap - he seems to be skipping naps or only taking a few minutes, little monkey!
Things here are good - weaning is still going well - he now has breakfast and 'lunch' but is also still having all his milk feeds. Hoping at 6 months (end of Sept) to introduce tea too so that he can drop maybe a milk feed in the daytime.
He's got a bump where one of his teeth is thinking about making an appearance too - bless him, was quite grumpy with it for a few days but now seems cheerful again- maybe it was just moving into position before - he might get grumpy agai when it starts to push up and come through - but will savour the peace while it lasts now!
He's still a monkey at nighttime, last feed before bed at about 6.45pm, but then waking at 8.30pm (no idea why!? ) then again at around 11.30pm, then 4am, then 7-8am for wake up. The 8.30pm thing has been quite a recent addition to the schedule and I'm hoping it is just habit and it'll drop out again soon. The 11pm one I don't mind too much - as I've only been in bed 30minutes or so when he wakes for that one - though obviously I would much rather he went back to 7pm, 4am, 8am That was lovely while it lasted - heck - the 7pm, 8am was absolute heaven for the three days THAT lasted too! LOL! We can dream though right? LOL
Hope all the other babies are well?
Had a sensory group thing yesterday and Samuel was sat up on his own playing with the feathers, and one of the other mummies said 'wow - that is so impressive' - is that good then? I thought it was normal to sit at 5 months? I know the rolling thing is normal too - he's rolling front to back and back to front now but there are a couple of his little friends doing that too. If I put him barelegged on the wooden floor in our lounge too (on hot days though - not when it is cold!!!) he will tummy-scoot I think it olny works when he is barelegged though because in trews he doesn't have the grip!
Ooh - stirrings are occurings... best go lovelies but keep well - really great news Bobski about the all-clear - hope that glass of wine was HUGE!
Lots of loves xxx

Hi all, back from lovely week in Centerparcs. Theo got his 2nd tooth through, but has been mega grumpy today as a result. Still no rolling over or sitting up, think it varies so much as to when they do things. Had a great time doing lots of activities and managed to relax too.
Bobski - so pleased you got the all clear. Do you do baby sensory too? We go to that, Theo loves it, especially the little puppet shows and things.
Anyway got a mountain of washing and unpacking to do so best go, hoping the chn will lie in tomorrow as they were both shattered tonight!

Glad you got the all clear Bobski! You must be so relieved.
May, have always wanted to become a primary school teacher. I have an fda in teaching and learning support and shall by the end of the academic year have a diploma to teach in the lifelong learning sector (so post compulsory education). I want to complete to a full degree and then do pgce if necessary (had been told that my DTTLS should be ok if i have a subject specialism.) Dont have any idea what to do though. Is there any particular subject that would be good to go for. also i only have a c grade in maths and english lit and d grade in science and english lang at gcse level. Would i need to redo any of these first? Not sure when will do as will depend on cost etc but def want to give a go.
Sophia had a fabby 3rd birthday the weekend before last with all her friends at a soft play party. And i made a 'bucky' the pirate ship cake (the finer details added by sophs gramps, but i made and shaped and did the 'wood' effect around the body of the boat and colouring the sails and the choclate bit at the back of the ship)http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151204243249047&l=61b8d93cea
Bless soph now though poor thing, high temp fri night and hallucianating, saying things like mummy why are the snakes tying up your hands, can i have water, why is there birthday cake in the way, mummy there is a tiger behind you, run. Poor thing. And still not right today, no temp now but very sore throat, being mucussy sick at times and very very tired. Feel so sorry for her, hope she is all better soon.
Joshy doing well, now 17lbs 3 (by my measurement anyway). HE can roll from front to back and on bed can roll the otherway too. Is getting stronger and can lift head when lying when he chooses, helful with clothes changes! Can sit supported for short amounts of time but a while before strong enough to do unsupported. And he chuckles now which is lovely but he is fairly stingey with these lol. Sleeping still awful at night with about 4 wakes but getting down to only 2 or 3 feeds, the others are nappy chanegs. day time naps all good. Easting, he complains if he doesnt get to join in with us now! Doing it blw but feel he is perhaps hungrier than this method allows so gave him some porridge this morning by spoon and he didnt hate it but didnt seem to enjoy as much as sucking on fruit/veg/toast etc. He has opportunity to pick up/play with/suck/eat food every time i do, i just sit him on my lap. Going ok and he obv eats wuite a bit judging by his poos (sorry tmi lol)
Hope all are well,
