Anti D after early m/c?

Post subject: Anti D after early m/c? My blood group is A neg but after I had my m/c I wasn't given Anti D. I have recently been told I should have had it

Post subject: I had an anti D after my miscarriage at 11 weeks (i'm blood group rhesus o negative).
I had read up on it so I was aware that i needed one and kept mentioning it to the nurses before they discharged me, would of been interesting to see if they had done it if I had not reminded them! Maybe its worth checking with your doctor if you need one. Caz xxx _________________

Post subject: There was a discussion on another post the other day about anti D , i'm also A- and was wondering why one lady had been given it very early in pregnancy and someone else said she'd been told after some early bleeding they don't give it before 12 weeks as the baby doesn't have its own blood group before then so you wont create antibodies
 don't know if thats the same policy everywhere ? I'd say it's definately worth speaking to your GP though to see if they can find out for sure for you xx Posted: Tue Aug 23, 2011 11:02 am
