Post subject: Low Dose Aspirin when tcc
Hi Ladies

Looking for some Aspirin advise:
Whilst I have sadly had 4 miscarriages in the last 18 months we never had any problems in getting our BFP... in fact it was amazing just how quickly we got pregnant each time we tried - usually only having to wait one or two cycles at the most. It has been determined that I have have sticky blood and am due to commence daily fragmin injections once a viable heartbeat is detected on future pregnancy, but in the meantime my consultant has told me to take the low dosage Aspirin every day even before being pregant.

It has now been three cycles and despite using the Clearblue fertility monitor so we maximised our chances, and having that familiar feeling of implantation (I have always felt discomfort and the sensation is very unique), we still have no BFP. We have never taken this long before and the only difference is taking the daily aspirin. I have read that taking the aspirin too early (i.e. before BFP) can prevent the egg from implanting as it makes the lining too thin for it to attach.

I have now stopped taking the aspirin to see if that makes a difference next month, but has anyone else heard that aspirin can prevent implantation, or has similar experience? Question

hmmm im not sure i'll be any help & apologise for the rambling post im probably about to write!!!

like you ive also had 4mc .... however i carried our daughter to full term (between the 3rd sand 4th mc) with the help of asprin - taken from the day of bfp.

i also took asprin with the 5th pregnancy (4th mc) and this ended up being a mmc, unlike the 1st 3 which were all natural mc's so im inclined to think the asprin was actually doing what it was supposed to do but i mc for a different reason.

when i get pg again im going to be having daily clexane injections (i presume its the same as fragmin) once the heartbeat is seen, but will still be taking asprin from bfp (aswell as progesterone)

ive heard of people being told to take asprin through the whole cycle but as it did the job for me with my daughter i'm sticking to taking it after bfp....

if i were you i think i would be inclined to try leaving it til bfp just to see if it helps. im like you ang get preg easily..usually after just one or 2 cycles ****touch wood touch wood touch wood**** its just hanging onto it thats the problem. as i said, this last mc was differnt to my others so im seeing it that the asprin makes me "normal" and normal people do normally have one mc at some point so hopefully that was mine.

going all out to get a sticky healthy bfp this month.

im seeing the dr who did my erpc next week (for the mmc) and im going to get him to refer me to the london miscarriage clininc (st marys). i was going to give the clexane a try first and if that didnt work ask to be referred, but i cant waste any more time. i guess im a bit different as all my nhs results came back clear so i dont have any definite problem as yet...although i did have the one healthy pregnancy with the help of asprin which would indicate sticky blood had been the problem with the other pregnancies.

i knew id ramble, just hope some of it makes sense?!

xxx

I haven't had a m/c but had what I thought was a chemical in december so started taking aspirin 5 days after ov until AF from january didn't get a BFP (I've been using a CBFM since feb as well) but noticed AF's weren't as painful and no clots (sorry tmi) but then a few months ago someone on here said she'd been advised to take it all month and one of the reversal ladies who'd had the same reversal cons as me said he'd advised her to take it all month too so I thought that might be worth a go but still no luck and my AF's started to get shorter (they were never very long anyway) much lighter and I had no pain at all with them, which if I hadn't been ttc I might have thought was great Rolling Eyes but instead I was worried that it was actually making my lining too thin Question
So I stopped taking it and had a more normal AF last month but with some clots , which I've heard may be a bad thing so I think I may go back to taking it from maybe 10 DPO because chances are implantation would have happened by then Question Sorry i'm no help really but I did do a bit of reading and did find some consultants advise against taking it all month as it can thin your lining but others say it doesn't so I suppose in the end you have to go with your gut instinct , Good luck xx

My infertility specialist said not to take it before 5dpo as it can stop you getting PG as well. I was taking it ever day before that. i now take it from 5dpo till 3 day of period and have had one PG since the change.

Thank you Ladies
I have decided to stay off the Aspirin and see if I revert back to my normally very fertile self, then start taking it again as soon as I get a positive test Confused

Hi faithandhope.

taking it once you get a positive may be to late for you as the clots could have started to have formed. taking it from day 5/7 would be the best option for you. this way you will have built up a good lining by day 7 and if anything inplants you will not form any clots to kill it off.
