following on from the proposal thread.... was just wondering what sort of weddings you have all had???

We had a small, country village church wedding in the spring - and the reception in our garden, the sun shone all day, drank lots of champagne ate great food we hired in some waitresses so we didn't have to do anything, food was fantastic - and had all the traditional stuff, speach's, cutting of the cake & photos - a great day had by all! I think we had about 40 guests in the end!

All in it cost us about £3000

Then we went on honeymoon to the carribean! (that wasn't included in the above costs!!) xx

We got married in Jamaica so were guaranteed brilliant sunshine. Was the best decision that we made and I dont regret it although some of my family were unable to be there but we had a huge party when we got back. I think we paid $4000 all inc. for 2 wks in the sun and wedding package so worked out well. As for the proposal thread, he asked me after we got married and had snuck off to buy me a ring at some point too. So basically we did everything backwards, had the holiday, got married and then engaged Very Happy

Our wedding cost just over £3000 including our honeymoon in Athens

We got married in the small village church that I was christened in (by the same vicar) and the reception was at a nearby inn, we didn't have a sit down meal, but loads and loads of food for the buffet it was very relaxed and chilled out... very much 'us' Very Happy my in-laws paid for a night in one of the rooms for us so we didn't have anywhere to be.

My dress was very simple (from monsoon- with 50% off as I worked for them at the time I bought it) and Ian's suit was hired. The flowers were burgundy calla lilies and white avalanche roses and the bridesmaids wore black prom style dresses with deep red shrugs and pearls

a sit down meal for 50.. disco and evening buffet.. and a sweetie bar, which went down well.. my dress was an Ian Stuart one.. and my cake was a castle with a roller coaster track coming from it.. (as we both love fair rides).. our theme was Autumn /Alton Towers..I had such fun planning it all ... it was my 2nd wedding.. my 1st one was a budget wedding, so hubby wanted to give me a special wedding!! Well, my husband and I had a simple buffet style wedding reception following our Medieval themed wedding in the evening. It was informal and easy. When you're planning your wedding ceremony in Chicago, you can choose from several beautiful wedding reception sites throughout the city. Here's where you will find some of the most elegant Chicago wedding reception loc.
