Hi ladies hope you are all ok? Sophie is in her own room now in the cot, but it's not made an difference to her sleeping lol. One very tired mummy :/
Tried her with some baby rice and she took 2 mouthfuls & clamped her mouth shut, so that told me Smile How are everyone else's babies doing with weaning? Or is anyone waiting to do blw?
Xx

Hi ladies
Viki, I hope Sophie sleeps better for you soon (does she have a sleeping bag?) I am waiting for my delivery of bowls/spoons etc to arrive from Mothercare and will be starting to wean Isla when it arrives. Sounds like Sophie was having none of it - guess you could try her in a couple of days time? I've been busy making purees but will try her on baby rice this week and see how that goes first. She has been constantly hungry this week but not sure if growth spurt or hunger or teeth - who knows! Laughing

Hope everyone else is ok - it's gone really quiet on here now, hope people are still checking in from time to time, even if not managing to post.

Miss you guys!!!!!! Very Happy

oh bless her, I hope she starts sleeping for you soon!

Logan is doing well with the weaning, so long as his food is at room temperature! which I'm not liking, don't want him growing up to only want to eat cold food so I'm hoping he'll grow out of it :s if it's even slightly warm he'll throw a huge tantrum, but he's always been the same with his milk aswell :/

Hi girls, hope you and the bubbas are all ok. Can't believe it's December!!
Is everyone sorted for Christmas? I've still got lots to do but my 2 bubbas are done Smile I haven't got that much for Sophie, she'll end up with loads of pressies from family so I'm putting money in her account instead. I have got a her a lamaze doll (Princess Sophie of course!) and a vtech crawler ball, but that's it.
I'm really looking forward to it though, can't wait Smile

Sophie is still a nightmare with sleep Sad Nicola she does have a sleeping bag, but doesn't make any difference. I think it's just milk isn't enough for her anymore as she's also feeding for an hour at a time, whereas she used to wake for a 10 min feed and be straight off again. But she's still not getting anywhere with weaning either! She clamps her mouth shut after 3-4 spoons of whatever I give her. She just wants our food but still too small for that! So this past week I've used a nuby nibbler and she's getting on ok with that - she's had apple, banana and potato and loved them. But she's not getting enough to help satisfy her. So just got to ride it out :/

How did Isla get on with weaning?
Glad Logan is doing well, how funny he has to have his food a certain temperature! Maybe I should try different temps with Sophie.

Hope to get on here a bit more, just lots been going on but everything is settling down now! xx

Hi ladies!

Wow haven't been on here in so long, life is definitely v hectic with a little baby, well a not so little baby anymore!

Have read all your posts and glad on the whole that everyone is doing well.

Zac's amazing, but is an awful sleeper, so understand where your coming from Victoria! He has half an hour naps in the day every 2/3 hours but is so inquisitive if something is going on like family over he wont sleep so gets whingy instead. he naps right up until we go to bed, we tried putting him down at 7ish, 8ish but he'll nap and whinge till he comes down with us. we have to put him in our bed then transfer him to his cot to sleep and how long that last depends each night then hes back in our bed but sleeps well with us. he sometimes wakes for a feed but mostly he lasts till 5/6ish then he even goes back to sleep till half 9. its a bad habbit but hopefully he will grow out of it!

Weaning is going well. he has such a huge appetite. Only problem is he will only eat the baby jars none of mummys home made stuff Sad think its the texture. Hopefully again he'll start to experiment but to be fair i worked out that the jars can actually be cheaper ! he experiments with all different sorts and he only doesnt like breakfast, if its porridge! he eats now a whole jar at lunch then a jar at dinner and half a jar of pudding. he gets about 500-600ml a day of milk but hardly will drink it till eve and night time. tried him with water with his meals and hes fussy so its difficult, might try his beaker see if he will take it from that.

Cant believe hes 6 months old in 2 weeks! half a year has flown by.

on the whole hes a good content baby but loves attention so i do find it hard doing anything in the daytime. but we are getting there.

mega broody after seeing lil pics of him when he was tiny! want a girly so bad next time.

one day we will wake up but not yet, hes too much too handle.

and yes christmas is almost sorted, just gotta get the decorations up next week Smile

hows everyone? xxx

Hello MrsH, good to see you on here Very Happy

Sounds like you have a little monkey too lol! I'm having the same trouble getting anything done in the day. If I walk out the room Sophie screams, even if she's been happy playing or someone else is holding her! So I've taken to putting her in her pram in the kitchen & sing old macdonald to her (she loves this song & giggles at it Smile) and she's happy for half hour so I can get a few bits done! The things we have to do!
So glad the weaning has gone well with him, like you say he'll start experimenting more as he gets bigger. So when are you planning on number 2 Laughing I've been broody since the day she was born and it hasn't gone away, but I think next year will be good to start trying properly.

Is anyone doing BLW? I'm going to have to do that with Sophie as she just won't take any 'baby' food, she's only interested in our food. Will have to get a book on it as I know it's going to be hard watching her with whole pieces of food!

Is anyone having to go back to work soon? I had to go back full time when my son was only 8 mths but I'm so grateful that I run my Oh's business with him so I get to stay at home this time.

MrsH if you're on fb come and join us, we're all on there now.

I hope everyone is ok and looking forward to Christmas Very Happy xx

Hey lovely Smile so pleased Olivia's reflux is improving, is she off her meds? It's nuts how fast time has gone, I'm really missing being pregnant & even physically aching for it lol! It won't be too long hopefully until we have another!
I'm really looking forward to Christmas too, I haven't been in a Christmassy mood like this for a few years, Sophie's definitely brought the sunshine back in our lives Smile The first Christmas is so special, so enjoy Smile xx

Hey hun. No she is still on her omeprazole but thats makes her sick, but its better than the screaming but i think i could wean her off it and it would make no difference but need to wait on the consultant doing that and he said he would wean her off her omeprazole and gaviscon when we go back in February as then she will nearly be a year (will take til March/ April to wean her off everything) and apparently they don't wean them off medicine til about then.

I hope its not too long, can't believe you would have another so quickly. I think you are all mad haha. Yeah i'm not a fan off Christmas but so can't wait this year. I'm sure you, OH, Ollie and Sophie will all have a wonderful christmas and they both will be spoilt rotten this Christmas.

Hiya Smile Logan's first Christmas was lovely, took ages to find somewhere for all his presents and stop the house looking like a toy jumble sale though! Laughing

If you want to add me on facebook I'm "Non Sincock" picture is me with red hair with Logan Smile

Logan's showing no signs of crawling yet so we think he's either going to be a bum shuffler or just go straight to walking because he will actually take a few steps if we hold him up Smile and his Dad was a confident walker by 10 months! Shocked think we need to invest in some stair gates soon if he follows suit! haha

I don't go to any specific baby groups but I take him out to play centres and stuff and get talking to other parents there, he always takes to the little girls! definately gonna be a ladies man I think! haha Rolling Eyes

hope everyone else is doing good Smile

Hey ladies.

Christmas was amazing!! Everything changes when you have a little one, even I was excited this year and I'm more of a new year person.

I'm Christine Hamill on fb but I'm friends with viki and Claire already so I'm on their friends list.

I can believe it either mrs hodson, where has the last 8 months gone?? How is Zach doing with finger food?? Can't believe he's almost crawling, clever boy.

faerydae- walking by 10 months :-O my god u will have your hands full shortly if he's like his daddy.

I don't take Olivia to any groups, not sure where to start looking and my health visitor wasn't the most helpful. She has interaction with other children though with my mum and aunt being foster careers for babies. Also there's 2 of my close friends with babies few months younger than Olivia.
Olivia has 3 teeth now. She is sitting up, rolling, up on her knees but no idea what to do after that lol. She loves to look at herself in the mirror and is a nosey child lol. Not like her mum.

Faerydae- Okay Im Gayleen Hodson, got a pic of me as profile pic and Zac as the cover.

Aww bless haha we had the same problem ,its nice that they got spoilt though. Wow yeah, I walked at 10 months too but Zac is now a crawler! bless him, not doing loads but its a start. I think yours will just get on his feet and go. Oh right what play centres are these?

Lol yes Zac stares at little girls too, bless them.

I'll try and add you too Christine. He's not doing well with finger food, he goes to choke on them so have been doing meals with say a rice cracker just to get him used to it a bit.

Yeah I havent been to groups either, I moved when Zac was 3 months old so never got round to finding new groups and havent got any one to go with. Got a couple of friends with babies I see but thats it. I didnt know how important they are?

Aww bless lol she seems to be doing well

Hi ladies, been so busy I don't get the chance to get on here anymore. It's been my lifeline while TTC, so it's strange not to get on here much now.

Christmas was lovely, enjoyed it so much! But then both my babies were ill after for ages Sad

Sophie is finally eating solids and has gone from nothing to eating everything Laughing she loves pancakes with cream cheese inside and also chicken, I just give her a piece of chicken and she chomps away on it, so cute Smile
Her weight dropped from over the 50th down to the 9th centile so I'm having to take her to be weighed every 4 weeks and if it doesn't improve by the time she's 1 then they want her to see a paedeatrician. But I'm not too concerned....I'm sure it is all due to the fact she wasn't eating and is really lively. She feels more solid now anyway.
She's allergic to egg though Sad she came up in hives over her face when she had scrambled egg the other day. Hopefully she'll grow out of it.

We've started swimming too and she loves it, I've taken her on my own since she was 9 wks but thought I do something more structured and I was also worried about taking her under. But the teacher has been fab and Sophie anticipates going under now....she closes her eyes as I'm about to take her under (we sit them on the side and sing humpty dumpty to them, as we get to all fall down we lift them off the side and take them straight under).

Does anyone else's baby still wake in the night? Sophie wakes at least once but sometimes 2 or 3 times still. I hope this doesn't carry on until she's 2 or 3, I'd kill for a full nights sleep Laughing

xx
