Post subject: Recurrent pregnancy loss Hi ladies
I've now had one ectopic and two miscarriages and I think I'll be entitled to be referred to a specialist. Has anyone else been referred because of recurrent losses? I'm wondering what sort of tests they do. x _________________

Post subject: I would see a specialist.. I think they may do tests.. prescribe aspirin to help with the uterine lining.. my friend had hormone injections after she had 3 m/c.. and went to to have a successful pregnancy.. xx _________________ Tubal Reversal 19/7/10 Angel Baby due 18/5/2011 (ectopic) Angel Baby due 25/1/2012 (m/c) Angel Baby due 21/6/2012 (m/c) All 3 much loved and wanted xx Posted: Wed Oct 12, 2011 8:13 am
Post subject: I had 3x m/c's before I was refered by which time my body had stopped ovulating.
They think I was due to my lining being very thin and baby not being able to "stick" Was put on Clomid to help with ov & it also thickens lining & conceived on 2nd cycle. Hopefully you should see someone soon, go to your GP & ask for a referral. Good luck Hun xx _________________ [ [

Post subject: So sorry you've been through this. Tests are worth it, whether they find anything or even if they don't. I had 4 losses, and tests didn't show anything for me, but it did give us hope that it might still be possible to have a baby, despite the 'proof' to the contrary. They put me on aspirin and progesterone, just to 'try'. I'm not convinced it was the answer, but I am now 36 weeks pregnant, and my baby has been really well all through! It seems like a miracle, but it also shows that there is hope for people like me and you, and I have heard so many stories of long long journeys which have happy endings. I hope you get all the help you need. x

Post subject: Early pregnancy loss is a frustrating and heart-wrenching experience for both the patient and the physician. Early pregnancy loss is unfortunately the most common complication of human gestation, occurring in as many as 75% of all women trying to conceive. Most of these losses are unrecognized and occur before or with the next expected menses. Of those that are recognized, 15-20% result in spontaneous abortions (SABs) or ectopic pregnancies. Approximately 5% of couples trying to conceive have 2 consecutive miscarriages, and approximately 1% of couples have 3 or more consecutive losses.
Early pregnancy loss is defined as the termination of pregnancy before 20 weeks' gestation or with a fetal weight of < 500 g. Most investigators agree that both ectopic and molar pregnancies should not be included in the definition. Posted: Tue Oct 18, 2011 12:52 pm
Post subject: Hey Morgan, Ive had 2 m/cs and an ectopic too. I got referred during the ectopic. I had blood tests but they couldnt dicover any wrong at all, they think it was purely down to some very bad luck. Consultant gave me some progesterone pessaries to use when i next get a bfp. The thought of going through it all again absolutely terrifies me. x
