a boys name.

we have always had clayson as a middle name as its my FIL middle name and goes back generations. although i did say to husband if we couldnt think of a boys name i was happy to move it to a first name, as its unusual.

so the name we have is Gabriel. after 5 months of suggestions!

i was unsure at first as i thought when they hit senior school some teasing about the ga(y) bit might occur but i think you get teasing with alot of names.

thing is now weve decided im not sure i like clayson better!

The 1st name you have picked Gabriel, lovely name!! Think Clayson is more suited to a middle name xx

I think kids will always find something to use against you if they want to anyway. My Sister's sil has an 11 yr old called Gabriel and the only name he has been called for short is Gabe, he's not had any nastiness from it at all. xx

They may at school, I went to school with a francis (boy) which is seen as a girly name and he didn't get any stick, also if it is shortened to gabe which probably will happen in school even if you don't want it to that is a strong name, always in cowboy films as the big strong hunk lol Very Happy

Anyway I wouldn't let what other people think affect my decision, my uncle said Archie sounded like a chimney sweepers name and he would be talking all rhyming cockney slang, but I love it and still do xx

i like the shortened Gabe.
my friend says she has a Gabe in her drama class and hes really popular.
Gabriel always makes me think of the farmer in 'far from the madding crowd.'

everyone turned there nose up at Evelyn when we named her but its fast becoming a popular name!
some people even said " ahhh evil-lynn like in He-man!" we pronounce it ever-lynn!

I love the name Gabe/Gabriel and Gabriel Clayson sounds like a movie star or something, it really goes brilliantly!

(also really like Evelyn too!)
