Screaming at bath time

Post subject: Screaming at bath time Until about 2 months ago, my son (now 14 mths old) used to love his bath times. Now I have trouble even getting him near the bath. It seems to have started when I washed his hair & for some reason, he freaked. He was always OK with bathing & hair washing, but now hates it. Bath times are a nightmare now and if it wasnt such an integral part of his bedtime routine, then I would probably only do it once or twice a week. Can anyone suggest a way to get him to enjoy his bath times again ....... please

Post subject: can you leave out the hairwashing for a while? turn the whole thing into playtime? or does he freak as soon as its clear he's going in the bath?
at the end of the day, as long as you persevere he will eventually learn that bathtime is non-negotiable, and its gonna happen however much he screams, so he'll stop in the end if it changes nothing. maybe its the ears under water thing? check he doesn't have a mild ear infection or loads of wax. dunno - just suggesting random things really!!! Post subject: Thanks for the advice Anna, I've tried everything, even getting in the bath with him but nothing seems to work. He freaks as soon as you get him undressed ! I just dont understand it. I've had his ears checked out as he used to suffer with ear infections all the time, but they are fine. I thought about taking him swimming again this week to see if that might help with the whole water thing ?

def worth a try I'd say - short of that, sounds like you just need to persevere really. Hope he sorts it out in his little head soon _________________
