Sleepy but awake

Post subject: Sleepy but awake At the moment I'm still feeding my 5 month old baby to sleep. I'd like to know how I can put her in her cot sleepy but awake so she can learn to go to sleep by herself? The reason I can't see it working is because she wants to feed until she falls asleep, usually still attached to my breast! Most of the time I have to detach her when I know she's asleep. If I do this before she's asleep she just wants to continue feeding. Could she just be not ready for this yet?

Post subject: I think it is a case of just doing it consistently to let her get used to it.
I think i used to detach Sophia just as her eyes were getting heavy and she was closing her eyes but long time ago now so not sure. So almost completely asleep but only just not quite. Sorry cant be more help than that. Mandy xx _________________
