How do you get a 3yr to do number 2 in the toilet?

Post subject: How do you get a 3yr to do number 2 in the toilet? My 3 yr old does not have a problem peeing in the toilet but when he needs to make poo poo he refuse to use the toilet he perfer his pull ups on, so he can poo in it! help any ides or suggetions ....

Post subject: i had exactly the same with my daughter. only she would do it in her pants, because she would go and hide somewhere.
my HV said to just let her do it in pull ups, and try not to make a big fuss about the toilet, but praise loads when they do use the toilet. _________________

Post subject: My daughter was exactly the same. She refused to do a poo in toilet but would run about flapping her arnms when she needed one so we always knew. We would sit her on the toilet but she would point blank refuse. She would hold it in until nap time or bed time when she had pull ups on and then do it! Was very rustrtaing but we just let her go through the phase (though constantly asking ourselves if we were doing the righ tthing!!!) Then one day she did a small poo intoilet, think it was an accidnet when she was peeing! We made a huge fuss of her and she slowly caught on. Now, she is obsessed with doing a poo in loo!!!
