Baby bumped head

Post subject: Baby bumped head Hi ladies
My lo was crawling around earlier in our hall way which is park a flooring. Somehow she pitched forward and smacked her forehead on the floor. It came up in a bruise instantly, and an egg shaped lump. She screamed her head off for a few mins then was ok. We tried putting an icepack to it but she wasn't having any of it. She seems ok, we kept her up for an hour and now she's gone bed. Should I have taken her to get checked out?!? _________________  Posted: Fri Aug 24, 2012 6:33 pm
Post subject: these things happen, and it will probably be the first of many.
where we used to live the stairs were in the living room, and my daughter was suing one of those push along walkers, and went that fast that she hit the stair post and went over the top of the walker banging her head on the corner of the post. the lump came up on her head straight away and it looked awful, and within a couple of days it had gone. as long as they are still concious and responsive there is not really any need to worry. _________________

Post subject: Gosh my baby looks like she has been in 10 with mike Tyson! when she was a bit younger I did take her to a&e when she had a bump n they said babies are nearly always fine from bumps asking as they cry right after and seem fine in themselves. So no vomiting loss of consciousness .. Since then I feel so much calmer when she hurts herself! Iv noticed now that she has learnt to fall? If that makes sense..like she used to whack her was all the time. But now she holds it up when she falls n holds her hands out n stuff

Post subject: Thanks ladies. I was a bit concerned the day after as she slept for 5 hours during the day, but she had been I'll during the week so could have been catching up. She has seemed fine since. She decided to fall on her head the day after, this time banging her mouth!! Xx
