Hi all, my wee man is 24 weeks, just 2 weeks off 6 months going by birth date. Just wondering if anyone knows from previous experience if its ok to give water straight from the tap at 6 months or if all liquids still need to be boiled first then cooled? And do bottles etc still need to be sterilized first? This weaning thing is a minefield!!

i had heard it was 6 months, but i was still giving cooled boiled water up until she was nearly 1.
steralizing is supposed to be until they are 1, but i stopped about 9 months, as my steralizer wouldnt fit in my new microwave. she was also crawling by then so i figured she would be putting a lot worse in her mouth _________________

I stopper sterilising soon lo started crawling but still use cool boiled water. I don't like tap water myself to drink so wouldn't give it baba. But they say 6 months so if your comfartable with it then should be ok _________________

George has his water from a tap from six months. Don't sterilise his water cup. _________________

I started giving tap water in a non sterilised beaker when both mine were about five months. I don't even own a steriliser! (both mine were/are breast fed) x _________________
