hi... hope you feeling ok this afternoon... guess you dont feel much like being healthy today..am sorry you didnt have better news this week.

Rant away i know how you feel my mum is such a worrier. i just had to try explain the process to her over phone and found myself losing patience, she then said that she was told that your less likley to have a downs syndrome baby on IVF this has come from my very irritating sister in law... and mum is now asking if I am worried!! NOOOO... that is the least of my worries right now. i am a positive person and my mum doesn't give me much credit for how strong i am... this is why i find it easier to not talk too much about it with them.....

a week tomorrow for our appointment and doctors in a few hours to persuade him to do our bloods through NHS....

xx

I couldnt have said that better myself. I feel exactly the same. Good luck for the doctors, you shouldnt have any troubles there, we went to the nhs to get ours I just wrote them all down so I had a list. She didnt even question it. Also if you havent already get your doctor to write a referral letter too as when I read the booklet the clinic need this. My doctor sent the referral (I took the address to give the doctor too). When the results come back I think the doctor faxed them to the clinic for us, but check whilst there what theyll do. x

Hey!

Louby lou- congratulations on being PUPO!! Do you have the Zita West relaxation cd? I found it really helpful on my 2ww, it really relaxes you and puts you in a positive frame of mind. Hope the time speeds up for you!

Positive and Nutty- I agree with what you are saying about not wanting to deal with everyone elses questions and worries. The first time we had icsi, we told all our close family and friends and found it really heaped the pressure on. It was all anyone could ask or talk about when they saw us. When we had the fet, we didnt tell anyone, not even my mum and sister! It helped so much as when we went out, or I talked to my mum on the phone, we talked aout normal things, and it made me forget about it!

I had a call from the GP today, he said he cant authorise the blood tests and will need to ask the partners of the practice at the next meeting. He will let me know, and also let me know the cost if were to do it privately. So definitely not starting on this cycle, as day one was yesterday, just hope now we have the bloods sorted in time for next month. I had forgotten how frusratingly slow these processes are!

Nutty- looks like we might be cycling at almost exactly the same time! Not long now til your appointment!

Positive how did the doctors appointment go?

Fc seems a bit funny he cant authorise the bloods, my doctor just took them without a question. What bloods is it youll be having done? x

Hello everyone, hope everyone is well despite this awful weather!!

I'm on my phone at the moment so I am sorry if I don't answer everyone's questions but I haven't been able to scroll back properly! I am 3dp5dt now! I have booked this week off work as I have tons of holiday left to use so thought I'd have a chilled week with a few bits and bobs planned, some shopping tomorrow, friends round on Thursday, and then I have my niece and nephew for the day and night on Saturday!

Today, however, is a DVD and duvet day Very Happy ! It's pouring down outside, I have the heating on, so I am just relaxing today after a fairly busy Sunday & Monday. I didn't do much after the transfer on Saturday morning. I was feeling really positive until this morning and now I just feel nervous?!

I had 1 blasto transferred on Saturday at 11am. My clinic won't transfer more than 1 blastocyst if you're under 35. It's from a cycle I did in April when I had bad ohss so ET got cancelled and we froze any that made it to blastocyst. My little embie went it on my mum's 60th birthday so am hoping thats a sign! And my official test day is my hubby's birthday!!

I'm trying not to obsess about everything but when would any symptoms generally start?

I have my zita west cd and an IVF companion DVD to listen to as well- going to pop that on now before my DVD marathon
Smile

I hope you are all okay, anyone else any news? sorry I can't remember who asked me what and can't scroll back on my phone

How did your Drs apt go positive?

Nutty when are you going for your next apt to discuss FET? As I'm having a natural FET I don't have to take anything at all! Feels rather strange as I don't even have to use the progesterone support which I still have left from my IVF in April!

It would make me feel better if I had to at least give my body something Shocked

Just on my usual vitamins that have been taking since we started ttc 4 1/2 years ago!

Hey Lou, duvet day sounds like a great plan! We have booked an appointment for the 8th October, 1st part of it will be a follow up consultation to discuss the failed icsi and then we have a treatment information appointment for the 2nd part where we will sign the consent forms for fet etc.. and hopefully get a timetable of whats going to happen. I think we will just go with the drugged cycle to be honest. Lou is yours private or nhs? Did you ask about having 2 put back at all?

Hi Nutty- We had to go private as NHS funding is still on hold in my area. There are letters coming out now saying they are hopin to reach an agreement with PCT's again and start funding again some point soon- but the waiting list will be massive!

My clinic will only transfer 1 at a time (unless a bit older or lower quality ones on day 3). If I'd put my foot down think they have to transfer what you want though so would have done 2 if I'd insisted. I know everywhere is different but they explained to me why they only want 1 to be transferred at a time, and I had tears rolling down my face when they were explaining to me! But it is your choice so go with what feels right for you - my circumstances mean I would rather try one at a time so I still have as many frozen as I can still!

Positive- as soon as we said we were going private to my Dr- we also had no choice as ZERO funding in my area, they stopped doing any more tests on the NHS! We had had a few bloods done, and hubby's sample but that was it. Had to pay our fertility clinic for all other bloods, amh, and even a smear test!! They wouln't even do my smear on NHS as they knew it was for private IVF. We were just lucky we could afford one cycle. The results all come back so quickly though privately X

Morning Positive, I cant believe your doctor said to chillax Shocked I wouldnt have been impressed with that also why on earth is he charging your partner Question that doesnt make sense to me. Have you made sure you are getting the 2 bloods done for the Hep B (core antibody and surface antigen)? I didnt realise there were 2 when I had mine done so I got the antibody one done at the clinic to save time. Ive never heard of anyone having any luck getting their ivf drugs on the nhs. I didnt even ask as I knew it would be pointless, we just got ours at the clinic. Herts and Essex work on a buy as you need them basis, so we bought them as and when needed. x

Im not sure what we should do regarding 1 or 2 embryos, I know they have there reasoning for replacing 1. I suppose deep down its the thinking that 2 has surely got to be better than 1 and have more chance of working. x

Hi Lou what area do you live in that they dont do NHS, isnt it shocking that we pay our taxes etc, apart from now i have worked non stop for 22 years.

we had an NHS letter come through for November, we will run it aside the private if the first round doesnt work might have NSH to fall back on????

I know Nutty, not impressed with doctor, i dont honestly know how i kept my mouth shut, shocking if you ask me.... hardly go doctors and asking for a few small tests.. but Lou seems like u have had the same response from your GP... mind u never heard paying for a smear honestly...

yes we had the 2 bloods done for Hep B it was in big print on our pack thankfully and made sure he did that on the form....

would it have been cheaper to get the meds at a local pharmacy a friend of mine did that? your right though that Herts let you buy as and when she said that is cheaper too.....

i think i have already made my mind up to have 2 put back in , at 38 i feel this is my best chance, of course we have to consider the reasons why they dont like doing it????
essex and herts said they would be happy to put 2 back in but that they would pray i didnt have twins because of compications.

ladies am so bored today, hate not working, finding stuff to fill the day, its raining outside, i should be power walking to get fitter..... but instead just want to curl up and watch a film..... is that allowed LOL xxx

I think a lot of ladies do say it is cheaper to go to pharmacy, we just found it easier to stick with the clinic and we had budgeted for their drug prices. I dont itll be pretty standard for someone of your age to have 2 put back and I dont blame you, 1 of the reasons I know they go with 1 instead of 2 is because the hfea is trying to cut the amount of multiple births. Goodness knows what we will do, no way of knowing until we've seen the consultant and what he has to say I guess.

It must be really odd for you positive to have so much free time. Stuff power walking lol, heating on and film! Has to be done. x
