Hi everyone, wow Kaz not long to go. U must be super excited Smile

Hi fc, glad u are feeling better. Are u starting to feel any movement yet?

I'm good. That's me 20 weeks now, I have my scan tomorrow so can't wait for that. Starting to feel a little bit of movement I think. It's hard to decide if it is or isn't when u dont know what to expect. I'm starting to get a noticeable bump too and actually just had one of those awkward conversations with someone in work who wanted to ask but didn't want to offend if I wasn't. I just laughed as I love having a bump. We're hoping to be finally able to relax after tomorrow as well, we haven't started thinking of names or looking at stuff to buy yet but hopefully will feel we can after tomorrow.

No, not long at all and bump has really dropped overnight too, so I think our Squishy is thinking about coming out soon! Induction on due date if no natural labour before then so the game is on to try and encourage him/her out beforehand.
Wow, 20 weeks already, gilly. Time flies. Lovely when you get that bump after waiting so long. Makes it all real. Good luck with your scan hun. xx

Hi ladies

Sorry I haven't been on for a while, I've been sooo busy!

Hope everyone is doing well, it's lovely seeing things like 20 weeks and hearing about bumps! KazM I can't quite believe how close you are, how exciting! Do you know what you're having? Sorry everyone's probably asked you that a million times!

Well I'm back in the game (definitely not on it, ha), start downreg'ing August 28 then egg collection probably week commencing September 22nd. It's great, the clinic are letting us pick up where we left off, as I have all my drugs etc here. I thought they might want bloods etc again but it appears not, yippee. Which was especially nice to hear as they sent out the bill for the whole thing today, yikes! I'm sure the point must be in the wrong place...

Anyway, I'm such a saddo, of course I've already worked out the EDD (June 29th) and baby's starsign (Cancer, same as its dad) so now of course I've worked myself into thinking I'm actually already pregnant. Ha, if only it was that easy!

xx

Hi Wickytavs. Best of luck for your treatment! I did the same with EDD when I was going through it. Then I got pregnant, had my 12 week scan and got moved forward 3 days (making EDD AUgust, not September). xx
I know, it's crazy how close it is now. I know I'll not be allowed to go over too. Got my induction booked on 31st August if nothing happens naturally before & having 2 sweeps next week to try and help things along. Been popping raspberry leaf capsules since 36 weeks to try and help things too.
I hope everyone is all good? xxx

Hi everyone! Nice to see some updates on here, its been too quiet!!

Gilly, how did your scan go? Hope all was well, did you find out the sex? I have beenn feeling what I think are movements very occasionally for a while now. Its only light and only when I lye on my back and really focus on feeling it. Its like a little goldfish swishing its tail in there! Cant wait for proper belly moving, bits poking out movements, its so amazing!
I know what you mean about not relaxing yet, I still dont believe this is actually happening and keep thinking something must have gone wrong since my last scan. Strangely I'm so much worse this time than I was first time round. I think its because I never imagined we'd be so lucky again. Hope we can both relax and start enjoying it soon. What is your due date?

Kaz, 31st Aug is really close! Bet your getting so excited about meeting your baby now?!

Wicky- such good news you have your dates! It's good you're thinking positively! I worked out my due date too when I knew when I'd be starting treatment! Bump by Christmas for you, fingers crossed!!

Very excited FC79. Very Happy
How lovely that you are feeling movements. It's the start of being able to relax when you are feeling movement. I know I didn't quite believe there was a baby in there until I was feeling regular movement. xx

Kaz, just a thought and it might sound ridiculous now, but I thought being your first baby you might not have thought about it.... With your induction date being 31st Aug, have you considered asking them to make it a day or 2 later, as a 31st Aug birthday will make your baby the youngest in their school year! They'll start school a few days after turning 4, whereas born on 1st September they'll start school a whole year later at 5!

It feels so far off now, but believe me it comes round super quick! My little boy was 3 at the end of may, so this time next year he'll be starting school in a couple of weeks Sad

Hi all

Wickeytavs great u are back in the game Smile good luck.

Def starting to feel little movements in there now, soft little kicks and hubby got to feel one last night. Unfortunately it's not all good here. There is some problems with the baby. The ventricles in his brain are measuring too wide so we have been referred to a specialist unit in Oxford. We go there on Monday for a detailed scan. They have said at the hospital that they just don't know what the outcome will be yet. We have done some reading up on in on the net and there is a lot of positive outcomes on there where it either sorts itself out or it's just normal for that baby and they turn out perfectly ok. One of the most positive outcomes is that baby will just have a slightly larger than average head. Well we know that this already runs in hubby's family as his cousin has one. When we spoke to his mum she said oh yeah that sounds like what he had and his aunt had to have loads of scans and had amniocentesis which is one thing we reckon they will recommend for us from reading online. She sided for all she knows he and his bro had it too but they never done the detail scan then. She said his bro had some development delays ie was late to talk, needed a speech therapist and had dyslexia which could indicate something similar. Anyway so at the mo we are hoping that it is a family trait that they are bigger and have bigger heads. I've always said hubby has a big head as he can never get a hat to fit! So keeping fingers crossed it's something like this and not that there's been an infection or something when baby's brain was developing obv that is the worst case. This can also come with downs or spina bifida but I came back low risk on downs and his spine is perfect so hoping it's just the ventricles been a bit big. I've already decided not to have amino if they ask us to have it, I won't risk miscarriage and they can test him when he arrives. Oh and yes we are having a boy. Sorry about the rambling post but please keep everything crossed for us.

Oh Gilly, congratulations on your little boy! How amazing that your oh got to feel him kick! I'm so sorry they found a possible problem at the scan. From what you've said about oh's family, it really sounds like that is what it is. I know it's completely different but a few years ago the doctor found I had an enlarged chamber to my heart, we were very worried for a while and I had lots of tests. They couldn't find anything wrong and said it was just the way I was made! There was no such thing as scans when I was my mum was pregnant, but had there been, that might have shown up as a possible worry too.
I hope it is just normal for your little boy and he'll be fine.

The thought has occurred to me actually - but thanks for saying just in case. I'm due at hospital at 1pm(I requested the latest time), so I'm thinking/hoping baby would not be born until the next day (I can't see things going super-fast if the prostin gel works & they'll only go to hormone drip where things would be fast if 2 applications + breaking waters fails).

I was really hoping to wait 'til 1st September before having the baby for that reason, but since getting GD, all I'm hoping for is to keep sugars stable (so far so good), a natural labour or at least that I don't need the hormone drip as that can distress the baby - and a healthy happy baby of course. xx

Gilly so sorry to read about your worry but very thankful to read that it's "not a surprise" to oh's family - hopefully like fc said it will work out as just one of those things. I've got a massive head myself, was always very embarrassing at riding lessons when there was never one to fit. No idea why it's so big, there's not much knowledge in there!

FC and Kaz that's a really good point - my eldest stepdaughter was born August 31st I don't think it affected her but in sixth form all her friends were turning 18 and she was just gone 17 it was a big difference. I always felt she grew up really quickly. Also my stepson was August 17th and he seemed so tiny when he started school - far too young he seemed. I really think there should be flexible school entry in this country.

Don't want to scare you if it is an August baby - I'm sure he/she will be fine. Just yeah if you can engineer it then you get a whole year extra before teacher becomes his/her favourite!

I'll settle for natural labour early on 31st (best case scenario)and birth on 1st September. Don't get to choose these things I guess, so baby will be here when he/she turns up. xx

Thanks all

Wickytavs sorry but your riding hat made me chuckle Wink hubby is the same he picks up these hats and they just sort of sit on top of his head. Whereas I can pick up the most ridiculed hats in shop and they seem to fit and suit me as well Wink
