and to have a 100% increase on pipelle
well i want to complain about Debbie the nurse, at our 7 weeks scan and seeing mass she was so un empathetic and wasnt helpful at all, coughed while dave was taking scan video, was cold and rushed..... not impressed. the words she used did not put us at ease in fact made things so bad.

Oh we will for sure, I think at the time when youre sat in the clinic taking everything in you dont process it all properly. We see a chinese lady yesterday called Mary to sign all the paperwork. We were originally going to get our prescription elsewhere (which we told her) but when she told us I would be starting the injections last night we knew we wouldnt be able to get the suprecur in time so we told her to leave the private prescription and we'd get in from the clinic and she said "well its not like theres a great difference in price we're talking pounds not hundreds!!" Urmmmm maybe not to you!!! Cheeky cow. x
I think Debbie did some of my scans I wasnt very keen on her. _________________ Ttc since December 2007!

i only ever really liked Feliz , Mary is a little clinical for me.....
i just rang them i might have come across a bit narky i just said i wanted to know how my blastos were frozen as it wasnt discussed. she said she will call today or monday.
she seemed narked that i asked.....
i cant knock them as we had success , the ladies in operating area are lovely, and micheal was great but it sometimes feels very clinical and cold.
i am really impressed with NHS right now, as well as our 12 week scan Thur week they are scanning us on Tue as a reassurance scan to check on tissue mass.... they see so much more of these things than the clinic would have, so fingers crossed.
you on suprecor today? xx

Good luck Claire,
You can always check out Asda - They do fertility drugs.
Complain, complain, complain! They are happy to take your money - you are clients! Expect the best when you pay. Not good enough.
I often find that happens when you pay at an NHS hospital...? They are used to treating people like they are on a conveyor belt NHS.... Not sure where you are having treatment Claire.
I think NHS and private mixed are a bad idea. The results are often worse... Have you checked the HFEA website for their stats? And the national average? We were referred to Newcastle Centre for Life - but the results wernt promising, so we travelled 170 miles to Care Sheffield... and i was very well looked after - and it was cheaper!

Its a completely private clinic Julie they dont deal with nhs patients any more. We will be getting our other drugs from asda it was just with the suprecur they required the prescription first to get it for the next day and we needed it same day so for convienience we just got it at the clinic. I checked out their stats before we started and they were all good so that was one of the appeals along with it being relatively close to us. x _________________ Ttc since December 2007!

I agree Clare it is a really good clinic and stats are good. she just rang and told me ours are singular BUT that as we have 7 if we were to use them she would recommend thawing out 4 at time anyway so guess its very similar to your case in a way.
although not labelling them up isnt ideal at all

But at least if you have to take out extra after the 4 Nikki you can have 1 at a time taken out. We could unfreezing all 7 and any that survive and arent used are just discarded , the more I think about it the more annoyed I am. _________________ Ttc since December 2007!

Defo complain Claire!! About the things you have said and the storing/thawing? I do not understand why any clinic shouldn't defrost them one by one. I think I would go absolutely mad at them if they didn't - Claire and Nicky? They are YOUR embryos and should be able to choose how stored and thawed?? What are their thawing survival rates? So far mine has been 100% but obviously that could change in the future and insist on one by one just in case. It's like your clinic don't seem bothered about wasting any? What if all 3 survive when thawing - what happens then??
Feel really annoyed for you! And the pipelle price doubling is ridiculous!

Theyve told us its 50% survival too from the thaw, me and o/h just feel a bit ripped off now about it all. Its not like we can afford to go again so maximising how far our frozens go was important to us, I just dont get why they froze them as a 4 , 4 and 3. Im going to put together an email listing all my complaints , cant even find any where on their website of who and where complaints should be sent to. Ive also searched every where on their site and can find no price list which informs you of the increases _________________ Ttc since December 2007!

Yes definitely do that Claire. I know you will be focusing on this next FET but still good to get all this off your chest and let them know you are unhappy with certain things and the way you have been treated with things too. Maybe just email them directly - enquiries or whatever and it will get through to the right person or do a letter and just post it to the clinic address. You have so many chances in your frozen embryos and you don't want them wasting any. Most people can't afford a second go of a full cycle and they should be sensitive to that x

Well this afternoon we have sat and put together an email listing all our issues , Ive just emailed the clinic to find out exactly who we need to send the email to. The more we both think about it the more annoyed. The thing that bothers us the most is the fact that the batches have not been labelled with numbers,I cannot believe they just didnt label them when you consider how important those blastocysts are to us and our treatment. If we arent satisfied with their response we are considering going even further with it. _________________ Ttc since December 2007!

Hi ladies, sorry not been on for a while, been trying to forget all about fet and ttc for the moment, it does tend to take over my life if I let it!
Claire, sorry to hear your having trouble with your clinic, must be awful thinking that this could come down to your last attempt after having all those great blasts. I too would be really angry, these are all your babies, they shouldnt just be thawed to see what will happen and then wasted if they're all excellent but you can only have 2 put back. Have they mentioned re-freezing? My embryos were frozen one at a time apart from these last 2 which were frozen together, the doctor said it was what they used to do when there was a stronger one and a weaker one, she said they dont do this any more tho. On our last attempt we spoke about thawing one, then if that did not survive we would thaw one more and she said as they are frozen as a pair we could either see how they do and put the best one back, or if both equally as good we could still just have one put back and re freeze the other one. It would be worth asking the clinic to do this for you as I know I wouldnt be happy for any embryos to just be left to die.
Hi Lou, how are you? Hope you are feeling well, how many weeks are you now?
Hi Nicky, glad you are feeling well, not long til your 12 week scan, that is just the best!! Hope the mass has gone, or at least shrunk and you can have a happy healthy rest of your pregnancy.
Hi to all of you going through treatment at the moment, Im sorry I cant see back any further to do personals but will hopefully be on here more often now so I can keep up with everyones progress!
As for me, we are planning on going for our last natural fet on my next cycle, so by my calculations day one should be 3rd Feb and et 2 weeks later - around 19th. This time I am booking 3 days off work which should lead onto a weekend aswell, get lots of rest and book some accupuncture. Its our final go so want to give it our all. My best friend who had a little boy 2 months after us just told me today that she is pregnant again, they decided to try for another one day and got pregnant the next!! Im really happy for them, but it just brings it home how easy it is for everyone else and what we are missing out on. ALso with our boys the same age it will hurt that hers will have a sibling and mine wont. I'll get over it, its just a reminder that we are different to everyone else and it hurts.

They dont re freeze at out clinic Fc so once theyre thawed thats it , so annoyed that this could turn out to be our last chance and we could potentially unfreeze 7. _________________ Ttc since December 2007!
